I am seeking for any kind of Consumer rights Ombudsman or any organisations that could get in touch with the company to help me sorting the problem.

Which organisation do you reckon could help me?

    Thanks in advance.

    There is no such thing....

While there are consumer legal rights. There is nobody that overseas and will assist anyone.
So in effect they mean you have to get off your backside and do your own dirty work by taking the co to court.

How did you pay this mysterious internet company?
    How long ago?
What is it a product? or a service?

The nature of my complaint is basically a failure for the company to keep a binding promise/offer (it would be too long and complicated to explain or give here all the details)

Was it binding in English law though? Most "offers" by retailers are actually invitations to treat, and not binding in law.

Without the proper details it would be impossible to answer, however over here in the UK we work on offer and acceptance. Just because you make on offer to buy something it doesn't mean it has to be accepted.
This means if you though you were grabbing a bargain because something was priced wrong then your out of luck, even if you have paid it is not binding until dispatch in most cases. This is all guess work though so unless you can expand on the problem you are on your own.

OP, we have organisations/charities that can offer consumer advice, such as the Citizens Advice Bureau or governmental bodies like the OFT or Trading Standards but if you want bring action against a seller then you are on your own, as it should be, but then we do a have the wonderful English common law system to fall back on..

In England, consumers do not usually refer matters to the EEC.
    Yes I know, this is why I ask where would you go to in the UK;

Thanks I know, I gratuated in English Law.

As I said I posted this, not in order to get advice on my rights and the applicable law, but to know if there was a similar organisation that would act like the ombudsmans do and get in touch the company before I resort to take them to Court.

It seems that I will have to drag them to the County Court then.

And you have been told by numerous posters (myself included) that there is no one to go to - you are on your own. See my second post on page 1 as to the procedure that you should follow.

I do not know if you are sarcastic when you talk about the Wonderful English common law system, but if you had our crappy French system, you would definetely think the English one is Wonderful.

    So much faster too

There is no central body for you to go via for complaints about a retail company - you are on your own.

If I had a complaint then I would initially do directly to the company concerned and make a complaint based on the Sale of Goods Act or Distance Selling regulations (depending on which one was relevant to my complaint)..

    Yes I tried this already.

Depending on how I paid (and the circumstances surrounding the problem), I might try a chargeback via PayPal/Credit Card company/Bank as applicable..

Section 75 refunds are only applicable if you have paid with a UK debit/credit Card, not a French one.

If I got nowhere with them then I would probably alert Trading Standards, just so that they are aware in case it is a bigger problem - but as previously stated they won't actually help.
No time to lose with them, they will not help me and I doubt they are very much efficient.

In the end, if I am owed money and the person owing it to me is not responding, then I would issue a claim through the small claims courts..

Yes, I know, but why going to Court when things can be resolved amicably.

But as I said at the top, I would have to do this on my own - there is no organisation I can rely on to help me.
Ok, but this is very strange, I would have thought that there would be a kind of "ombudsman" helping customers. They have much more power than an individual customer that is often taken for granted.

    Anyway, thanks

The company is ignoring you, so it is unlikely that things are going to be resolved amicably.

Send the company a letter or email headed "Letter Before Action" and give them 14 days to resolve the matter. When the 14 days are up commence legal action - that is the only option left to you as you appear to have tried everything else.

Strange it may be, but there isn't one so you just have to accept that.

Of course you do also have the ability to name and shame the company concerned. A factual post on popular forums such as this one might make them wake up and realise that they risk their name being dragged through the mud, because they won't meet their obligations.
