I wonder if the Atos representative could answer a question for me?

Would academic studies and articles from medical journals be suitable as evidence and information about my illnesses?

Would these be read if I handed them over, or would they be ignored, there is several hundred pages of them.

    Thank you.

Even if it was 1 or 2 pages they wouldn't read it, they may look at them but read and Absorb? NO!

We'll probably not see the MSE Sponsored Rep again, I think Atos have had all it needs now following it telling MSE that it wants access to MSE forums.

Not one of MSE's finest hours!

It seems as though the ATOS rep may have got his easter egg early as he hasn't been answering questions for a few days. It is worth supplying as much evidence as possible but don't expect them to read it. The ATOS assessor that my partner saw said it wasn't necessary to see the specialist letters that we offered to them and then in his report said that we did not provide any !!!

    Best wishes with it,
    Dee

    Hi baxie

Because different people with a certain diagnosis can be affected in different ways the evidence that you provide should be specific to you and how you are affected by your illness.

I am the official company representative of Atos Healthcare. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

Could the ATOS rep please state if there are any targets with respect to responses ?
ie are there targets that a certain number of complaints are validated/invalidated so that a quota of assessments are stated to be 'fit for purpose' after a complaint or is each individual complaint based on its own merits ?

    Thank you,
    Dee

I had ESA medical assessment as I have osteoarthritis in both knees, collapsed vertabraes in my lower spine and am registered disabled. The report came back stating I would be fit for work in two months even though my doctor and the hospital says I will not be able to return to work as my condition will not improve. The assessment was last October and I am still being signed off by my doctor.
The assessor stated I sat in a chair for 45 mins and couldn't be in that much pain as I never asked to move or needed assistance to get up and out of the chair. I walk with a stick and was accompanied by my husband throughout who supported me and helped me in and out of the chair, the assessor also took me into another room to do some exercises half way through the 45 mins we were there so I was not just sat there

My question is why do your assessors blatantly lie.

I was awarded no points but someone else in the DWP looked at my case and must have felt embarrassed by the report as they rang me up apologised and awarded me benefit without me appealing.

    Complain!!!

Also irrespective of what party your MP belongs to write or go and see them or get them to come to you and tell them how you've been treated by Atos.
