Hi minnehaha
The HCP records the symptoms and ‘typical day’ history from each individual in the first part of the report, followed by the findings of any clinical examination that they perform. They are then required to advise on the level of functional loss they feel is present in relation to the specific activities and descriptors of the WCA as set down in Legislation. It is possible to have symptoms from a medical condition (which will be recorded in the first part of the report) which do not impact an individual’s function to the degree/severity necessary to be counted as a ‘problem’ within the WCA descriptors. This may explain what you describe.

Simple question how much longer do I have to wait for a reply to my ATOS form submitted in January?
Had a letter in mid February to tell me of a change to my IB amount ?! Totally confused.
Stressed awaiting update.
Thanks.Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!

Call ATOS up, you may not need to go for an assessment. They will be able to tell you if it's been looked at. It's a free phone number too. I found there was more of a delay when ATOS had told DWP that I didn't need a medical, than when I did need one. However, everywhere has different lengths of time4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

Hi Crisp£note, the IB letter was the annual notice of the amount your benefit will increase to come the new financial year. It's not linked in any way to the WCA process.0 -
Hi minnehaha

BUT the 'HCP' asked no questions as to how this problem could affect my activities, nor asked me to perform any test which would demonstrate loss of dexterity. In fact they had me swinging my whole arms around. They managed to record this in the WCA as me evidently thinking the whole thing was "silly". I perhaps looked bemused, as this physical exam would not have highlighted any difficulties with my hand or wrist.
But this is a side issue - my main problems are mental health related.....how can the HCP state "visited her aunt when she was ill"; yet omit the bit about me being unable to leave the house due to my health in the last days of my aunts life?
How can the 'HCP' say I continually asked her how she thought I had done, when I asked ONCE (on the advice of my local advice bureau) at the very end of the assessment?
Why are your employees allowed to omit relevant information and tell outright LIES in their reports?0 -

I have re applied for ESA Oct 18th 2012 & recently sent back the ESA50 on 27th Feb. In the booklet of rules it says I will receive it by the 13th week, this did not happen, how long will I have to wait for a medical or decision on my claim.0
-
Rarely does the 13 week thing happen as they are so busy dealing with all the appeals on top of all the new applications.
At least you have now returned the ESA 50. Mine did not even get to me by week 13 and I finally had my Assessment at the local ATOS in July 2012 which was around 8 weeks after week 13! So you will have to wait for them to either ring you or write to you to offer you an appointment for a medical.0 -
(Just to add that the customer should get updates every 10 days if the response is not within 30 days.)
Could the ATOS rep please state if there are any targets with respect to responses ?
ie are there targets that a certain number of complaints are validated/invalidated so that a quota of assessments are stated to be 'fit for purpose' after the a complaint or is each individual complaint based on its own merits ?
Thank you,
Dee
