Totally agree with drying on hangers, unfortunately we changed our over the bath shower rail to a corner walk in cubicle which has reduced the area from 20 items to about 6. :(

having broken my shoulder 2 weeks ago, housework and ironing are off limits at the moment. while inconvienient, every cloud and all that.
Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"

I find a black bin liner is a good place to store large amounts of ironing when you are expecting visitors, even better to keep the bag(s)in the boot of your car :D

My aunt could never be bothered to wash up dishes she'd used to bake in the oven. She'd just bury them in the back garden.

My older brother used to wear all of his clothes until he'd run out of pants and sox. Then he'd take the lot to the service laundrette, going commando. On the way to work he'd pop into M&S and buy another pair of each (in those days you could buy just one pair of each) so that he'd got something to wear for the day.

I'd never cleaned an oven until about four months ago and I'm 56. I always reckoned you could wait until everything turned to carbon and just sweep it out, until we started cooking ducks. Took me a while to work out what was going wrong.

I like to think it runs in families.
    Better is good enough.
  • Love this thread!!

I had a new kitchen and thought the idea of a self clean oven was fantastic, no-one tells you its just the sides. I have bought some teflon sheets that go in the bottom, cut it to size and voila, disposable oven bottom.
If it wasn't for blinds it'd be curtains for all of us:dance:
  • I washed the kitchen floor the other day - not so slobbish until I say that I absolutely cannot remember the last time I did it!

This year ive decided the house consists of the house and nothing else.

We argued so much last year when i tried to help in the garden i'm going to leave him to it this year.

Ive told him not to bother setting up the water feature if he's not going to be here to keep topping the wretched thing up and dont bother with flowers in baskets if he's not going to be here to water them. (I'm not so much of a cow but ive got last years hanging baskets still hanging up which look awful as you can imagine).

Ive even stopped getting up the dog mess from the garden.... that wont be resumed until he sweeps up the fag ends he's chucked over the fence.

    Me - House
    Him - Garden

Sorted! I now live in a 2 storey flat :D
