OK, this is really top secret fellow slobs, even I'm a tad embarrassed by it.:o

The PE kit, or other clothes that are "must have" that morning but have missed their wash slot.

Bung 'em in the tumble dryer with a piece of kitchen towel dabbed with fabric conditioner, for about 5 - 10 minutes on warm. For maximum effect shove the kitchen roll inside the garment.

You get the "Just washed smell".

If you have appointments and notice at the last minute some dirt on your trousers/skirt, apologise to the customer as you've just been splashed by a car and puddle, or if that is not feasable, eg height of a dry summer - you just stopped a mucky runaway dog from getting onto the main road. The dog story is a winner, as it just highlights what a nice person you are. :)

So there you have it - winter excuse and summer excuse - sorted!

TBH, I thought this was standard practice! I shoved the grandson's (lives with us) PE kit in the dryer this morning before school...he'd only worn it for an hour on Tuesday.

Maybe I'm more of a slob than I thought I was...

Use towels destined for the wash to clean up the damp dust bunnies on the tiled bathroom floor. No need to even bend down, use foot to push around then kick into washbin (and try not to be horrifed my the amount of dust and hair that's picked up!). :)

    hahaha ... i do this!!!

You mean your stairs are tidy? I'm impressed!

it's the only part of the house that is!

(mind the stuff piled up waiting to go up that's been there so long I forgot what's there!)

LOL, I love this thread! Much more my style than FlyLady!

I thought I was the only one with a floordrobe... but clearly I'm just keeping my clothes away from the terror that is the rail! It makes so much sense that they're scared of heights! ;)

Got a lot of empty coffee cups/glasses etc on the side waiting to be washed and someone turns up? Throw a load of coasters around and act like they've just missed the people you had round for coffee and cake! :)

When all else fails, close the doors on the worst rooms and hope guests aren't nosey. ;)

    I always do that :rotfl:

I always clean the sink after my morning wash with the flannel I used to wash with & wipe the floor with the towels.
We have a piece of string pinned along the wall in the hall where we hang our Christmas cards, I take the cards down or hubby does, but the string's been there 8 years now.

I have just found some post which arrived on Wednesday (according to OH) who then put it on the small settee and eventually the empty laundry basket was put there "for a minute" which hid it nicely :rotfl:

I think I will move in next door. Nice empty house. I could pop back to mine to see my stuff anytime. :)

Don't get venetian blinds, especially for the kitchen....

I had a bit of a funny turn before Christmas and invested in one of those blind cleaning tools - big mistake.

It didn't work on greasy blinds and I ended up having to clean the blinds - 3 big windows and a back doors worth with a damp cloth - I had to go for a lie down afterwards.

I have since decided the way forward is never to drop the blinds - what the eye doesn't see...

My mother used to swear body heat was a good as ironing.....

Keep a horse or two (but not in the house). You will then always be much too knackered to do anything houseworkish, but you will have lots of fun with your clean, shiny horse, in its spotless stable, wearing its freshly laundered rug ..... lol

this definitely made me smile, having grown up in a houuse cluttered with bits, rugs, random bits of bridles!! yet my tack room and stable were perfectly clean and the only clothes that were always clean and hung up was my show gear!!

loving this thread. i am not the only person with a floordrobe wahoo!! i used to amaze a friend of mine by always being able to find an item of clothing in the pile straight away!! it is just organised after all, just organised into a big pile!!!;)
