No table cloths here, just a sweep of the hand if the crumbs get too numerous to put a plate down without it going crunch...

*shamefaced* On one or two occasions I would buy cheap and nasty dinner services and throw the old out rather than wash them up.

Also the oven is a great place to hide washing up

    :D

I often hide washing up in the oven... I had to do that when I went on holiday in case the neighbours had to come in... I have a dishwasher but that was full of clean stuff :o It wasn't pleasant when I got back from holidays so the slow cooker pot had to go in the bin, obviously. When I say bin, I mean outside the back door with several other kitchen pots. I might plant it up actually as it hasn't made it to the bin yet :D

don't clean those hairspray spots off the mirror and you won't notice how dusty the bathroom is. Plus, you'll look so much younger because you won't see the wrinkles or notice the grey in your hair :D

    I can vouch for this.

Lol just found one of my own posts on there from 2008 lets see if I can update

Now thats why I try flylady as I hate to think what it would be like if I didnt!!!

That cracked me up! (shame the quoted bit didn't show) Funny how the years pass by with certain jobs never getting done!

I find moving house every 3 years helps enormously. People are willing to help you move house (ie pack and clean) but less willing to do your housework for you :D

I don't know why I keep my iron and ironing board in the kitchen - I only use them once or twice a year, if that.

I have 3 full washing pop-up basket things - all full. Have been full for approx 18-22 months. I might empty them soon as I am reasonably confident that the kids will have outgrown the clothes so I can just give them straight to charity with apologies for them not being washed :o:o:o:o

Then we can put our washing in the baskets and get them off the floor, then chuck them in another 18-22 months :rotfl: If we keep doing that, hopefully in a decade or so, we will have less stuff.

My greatest fear is getting sick - my friend is in hospital with pneumonia at the moment... If I had to go into hospital I would seriously have to consider throwing a lit match behind me as I closed the door

Even being a self confessed slob - I am a smidge embarassed about this one....

Only yesterday, yes the 30th March - did I remove the Christmas table cloths. :o:o:o

In my defence, they were more wipeable than the usual cloth, so were great for sowing my seeds in the house, and potting on plants. (well, it has been too cold for doing these jobs in the greenhouse).

Anyone else still have a Christmas remnant at Easter?

On my fridge is the Santa and Reindeer fridge magnets with jingley bells which were meant to go back in the box with the tree lights which are beside the sofa still.

this thread as really made me :rotfl: as I can identify with it.

I did some washing up as it had been there for approx 2-3 weeks!!! The crock from the slow cooker had chicken cooked in it and really did smell. It made me dry heave. But in my defence I have been taking some medication which has nausea as a side effect!!!!

I do have one massive excuse for being a slob lady since the start of the year my house is being done up lol!!!! that is my excuse and I am sticking to it. What my excuse is after it is all done and dusted I don't know :rotfl:

My kitchen is clean. Surfaces bleached, everything put away. You can go in there and prepare anything, all the utensils are ready to use.

My floor however, is vile. I don't remember when it was done last.
Not to the stage of actually sticking to it and being unable to move, but I dropped a potato and usually at home the 5 second rule applies, but I took one look at the floor and consigned said spud to the bin.

I am going to scrub that floor tomorrow.

I did mop it regularly then OH put the mop & bucket in the shed. Best place for it, apparently. There's spiders in there, and a hedgehog. C'mon. Was I meant to go in there to get it?

And he was going to mop the floor as part of his organised routine. I've yet to see this.

Ditto hamster cage :o (in my defence, the hamster didn't live in it at the end and the plastic crate she was living in has been disposed of).

I'm pretty sure the gold bow that OH stuck to the picture frame at Christmas 2011 is still stuck to the picture frame now. Since then we've moved into a new living room and the picture is still in the old one. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd go and check. Pretty sure its still there though ;)
