We got the £18 room for the Halkin Hotel, not The Metropolitan London, as most others did. they are the same COMO group though, so this all should apply.
We had the como suite. It was gorgeous. Had large comfy bed and sofa area. Marble bathroom and dressing room area. You get 6 complimentary designer mini toiletries, 2 soaps, a sponge thingy and an espresso machine in your room. There are lots of bottles of complimentary still water in the room. The lights are all controlled by a pad next to your bed. The bath is enormous - Pretty Woman style! The shower is so powerful it is almost painful. There is a hairdryer and shower cap, slippers and bathrobes. Prices for room service and breakfast are extortionate so if you are poor like us, go to Pret a Manger round the corner! or elsewhere. You get a complimentary drink each on arrival - I recommend the pink champagne (one glass of which costs the same as the room cost us) This really was the best glitch ever! Hope you all have as much fun as we did. We would never have been able to afford a night away like this in real life. If you have any questions please ask.
I guess you can't keep the slippers or robe? Thanks for the info, hope someone who is stopping at the metropolitan will give a similiar review as would love to know in advance what it's like.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

The Halkin and Metropolitan are all the COMO group so i'm pretty confident it would be the same. I think the slippers were kind of disposable (as not the sort of thing you can wash) so we could have taken them but not the robe. We didn't take the slippers coz we already felt like paupers having not ordered any room service and bringing in our own croissant breakfast! I must admit I am infinitely more comfortable in a Premier Inn!Wins so far: Jar of Nesquik, LoveTub pudding, Strada Reviewer.
