Skillens here we have the WINNER!!! Lynda Speers, with her husband Willaim, receiving the beautiful Tanzanite and Diamond ring, well done Lynda:)
You would think they would take a bit more care when spelling someone's first name.
Or is that how it is spelt in Northern Ireland?
However he does look happier than she does.0 -

is that even if you *do* add someone on as admin, they *still* appear under their own name!
You have the option to post as own name or page name.0 -
ive got a business page linked to my account and ivejust tried to post as my comping name and i cant, i cant see this option, i can only post under the name of the business page0

This is being discussed all over the net - even Canada! The shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.:TBig thanks to all competition posters:T0

There are ways you can talk as the admin of the page even if you aren't the page owner. I own Phillip Schofield's official facebook page and I added his agents as admin too so they can post as Phillip. But you need to know what you are doing to change between the two. Personally I think there is something dodgy about the competition. If I owned a business I wouldn't let a competition winner be admin under any circumstances....if I won a competition and people were being nasty to me I would ignore it.....so why she needed to be made admin to delete them I don't know.
I feel the statement they made after was so unprofessional and the removal of the page twice was too.
I didn't enter the competition but I am still interested to see where this story goes.0 -

There is no such thing as bad publicity :rotfl:SECRET TO WINNING PRIZES:
If you see it in your mind, you're going to hold it in your hand.
Thoughts become things!
What you think about you bring about!
No one is ready for a thing until he believes he can acquire it.

I wish to advise that I know the entrant personally. I know none of you will believe this anyway so don't bother with the derogatory comments. She has never worked for that company or has never had any dealings with any of the staff or the owner. There is a witch hunt for her on Facebook which is totally unacceptable and the fact her personal details are shown on this thread is upsetting. If anyone has a problem with the competition please take the appropriate steps so all this can be rectified. I am sure the company will be willing to stand up and admit any mistakes made and everyone is innocent until proven guilty. They have made an official statement and I believe a lot of people will be eating their hats. The fact I can't sleep at 4.08 feeling the need to write this may sway some of you. Ps I am NOT the entrant or the company, believe or not I don't really care what any of you think but only for the welfare of the winner, but I know the truth!!! Thank you
it shows her comment as being as if she WAS the company. if you look at any general T and Cs for LEGITIMATE comps , that say employees of the companies running the comps , CANNOT enter [text removed by forum team]0 -
I love this quote from the Canadian forum...
'It is maddening - I am trying to reassure myself that this challenges the notion that I am a Looser and redefined it as "they are Cheats."'
I feel it sums up what has gone on entirely...and why.
[STRIKE]We all [/STRIKE] Some of us enter thousands of comps annually and we are well aware of the actual strike rate for winning...
Depending on the size of the prize it varies from 1 in a few 100 to 1 in a 1,000,000+...
Looking at my entry to prize ratio last year, I reckon I averaged 1 in 2,000.
To do this takes a lot of work, almost to the point of obsession, and it does get really frustrating when you just don't win anything for long periods (anything over a week and I get twitchy...lol).
In your head there are all the cheating scenarios, all the reasons you aren't winning, all the reasons others are - tbh I've deleted my Facebook account and started a new one and changed my email - didn't work mind.... and all we really want is a level playing field...
So, the minute someone gets caught out, we are all shocked, ott and deeply unhappy. However, the reality is they were caught - it is bad and they won't do it again - if you really think about it, by spending my time writing this I have missed out on entering probably 20 comps with prizes worth many times that ring...
In the big picture, as a comper, I am far more concerned about the comps that allow multiple entries from the same IP addy, the most 'like' ones on FB and the ones where they just make up the winners (no evidence of these but I'm sure they happen).
I feel really sorry for the company and woman involved in this if it does (as I am sure it will!) turn out to be a scam - but if in any way I thought that my vitriol, directed at someone who has made a stupid mistake could harm her health or well being in any way I would have to take a long, hard look at myself....
There are cheats and fools in all walks of life and I think that as we comp we should remember this and look to our good karma and occasional sprinklings of lucky dust to keep us going....
Happy New year and Happy Comping to all!!:):smileyhea Thank you to all that post comps - may the Comping Fairy return your time and generosity doubled!:smileyheaLaughing at our own mistakes can lengthen our own life. Laughing at someone else’s can shorten it.Pronoia - the wonderful feeling that everyone is conspiring to help you!!
