Skillens For those few English people who are sore losers, the vast majority of enteries were from Northern Ireland, where anyone can drive across the full expanse of the county in approx 90 mins. Out of 9000 odd enteries their is bound to be a handful of bad losers.
It was this message by Skillens on their facebook page that did not fill me with much confidence.
I think everyone makes the occasional typing error but for someone supposedly representing a commercial enterprise that was a bit poor.0 -

People on Facebook last night were replying that even if you *do* add someone on as admin, they *still* appear under their own name! Not the company who has administered the access...?
It was in reaction to that statement, which was released around 3am (I was up, read the whole lot till approx 6am) that people on there were saying that with admin privileges , you still post as yourself 'Lynda Speers', and said if she is unbeknown to them, how can they state (to know) she is a 'very decent lady' ...?
(NB: I personally have no clue regarding the admin thing as I do not own a business page. I am just relaying what comments were under the now deleted statement, in light of some more info about it)
I believe this looked liked a rushed 'desperately clutching at straws' statement release which, when refuted by members of Facebook, they swiftly shut their page down again as evidence was piling up against them for the worse.
These were all posted under comments after the statement, and there was also a fair share of people sending her condolences, understanding and sympathy too.
It is a sorry mess, and a real shame, but if found guilty, they would only have themselves to blame.0 -
Right so their statement was posted on facebook at 3am and then this gem was on here at 4am....... makes sense now so clearly either the owner/worker0

personally i think like/share comps shouldnt be on the boards anyway ,,, its against facebook rules .... ♦ All promotions must be managed through a third-party app.
♦ You must not use Facebook features or functionality (likes, comments, videos, photos, cover photos, etc.) as a promotion’s registration or entry mechanism. For example, the act of liking a Page or checking in to a place cannot automatically register or enter a promotion participant. Similarly, requiring someone to share a post or photo in order to enter a promotion is not allowed.
♦ Facebook features and functionality, such as the Like button, can't be used as a voting mechanism in a promotion
discuss lol !!
I actually agree with you and skip the like & share ones without even looking at them. But people still enter them regardlessThanks to all posters :A0 -

No discussion needed. Agree totally :TA strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others.0 -
As I posted in another thread re the recent bans on Facebook, my newsfeed for my "competition friends" is just amass with like and share comps. So, there are hundreds/thousands of companies still running their comps this way.
Perhaps Facebook should be tightening up on this downfall? The best things in life are free.....0 -
