Another £20 or so spent this week. Some essentials, some shopping when too tired/sad and so "treating" OH and myself to stuff we don't actually need. Also some Christmas baubles reduced to 35p and ohsopretty! But yeah, did not want to be spending that much again this week. Still, nearly payday!0

Sweetie83 - One of the reasons I do not spend as much in Ald! is simply because they don’t carry as many lines as the leading supermarkets and by the time I have been in there I find that often I can’t be bothered to nip to one of the others to get anything else - unless it really is essential and I cant think of anything else to use in its place.
In our local Ald! its main down point is that most of the fruit & veg does not keep long, however I have been to other stores who stock is so much better. So at the weekend we get the fruit & veg from Morri$ons
NSD today and spag bol simmering away for later.
Will be starting to think of another weeks menu plan and shopping list later ready for shopping on Thurs.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Popped into town to do some banking. I got a new mop in the 99p shop but Mr F paid as a business expense. So the only spend for me was £1 on the barbecue sauce in Pound...Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Going to say that today has been an NSD for me - I did spend on some chorizo but as it's coming from a different budget (for a special occasion) I'm not going to add it to the Grocery Challenge.
Tea tonight is an Italian Sausage, Tomato & Bacon Risotto.
Looking at how things stand I'm going to need to do a bit of shopping before the weekend. I don't know how Mr KB gets through the cereal he does! I need to research granola recipes to rival the Jordans Luxury cereals you can buy - it gets expensive! I don't begrudge him anything, I just worry at the high sugar content.
Have a lovely evening, everyone.

Another round of visits to Ald* ffoods and coop today for super six, bread and milk, and picked up a few ys pizzas so £9.59 added to total.
Booked a mr t delivery for Thursday  but only stocking up on essentials, making use of their so called special offer s - came to about £40 so I might just come in budget provided I don't need to top up but think its doubtful ad I ALWAYS need bread/milk/fruit !

Learning to only buy what I need for the month rather than secret freezer stocks will help, as I'm off on hols with about 2 weeks worth in the freezer, but these habits take time changing[/QUOTE]
I have a lot of issues with this especially when I buy reduction s lolGc 2013 +26 -5. -4 -7 -14 -15 -10.-8.20 +15p+30+5.80 Dec +9 GROCERY challenge 2014 Jan -2Feb -3 March -1.50 April +5.40 May +4.90 June -3.July 16.50/85

€408.82/€600!! And plenty in the fridge/freezer/cupboards for this week. Only one more week to go so hopefully will come in under budget.
Trying to eat up some lamb from the bottom of the freezer. Mince for Shepherds pie and chops so far this week. That's the advantage of living on a farm as I don't think I could afford to buy lamb in the butchers! I'm already eyeing up the new lambs and wondering how many we will put in the freezer! And it's guaranteed horse- free!
The hens are laying again! Yippee! We have 4 plus a bossy rooster called Roger (and he does live up to his name - the hens are harassed!!) At least 3 eggs per day so that's a saving every week!Gc 2013 +26 -5. -4 -7 -14 -15 -10.-8.20 +15p+30+5.80 Dec +9 GROCERY challenge 2014 Jan -2Feb -3 March -1.50 April +5.40 May +4.90 June -3.July 16.50/85

I bought non-food (wine, water, shoes) things while at the supermarket, and paid a bit from both my food purse and my normal purse. I don't know what came from what purse any more, so not the most successful first month... But I'm still finding a separate purse very useful. Currently have £20 left to last until next week, but I'm fully stocked just now, so only need bread, ham and fruit. That will somehow mean I spend £12 at A1di, but that's not too bad!
I might actually have some money left over this month! That's never happened before, so I don't know what to do with it...0 -
