If you look back on my posts you will see he follows me about everywhere disrupting all my threads and contradicting everything I do. Its quite clear he's just being deliberately disruptive
No idea why, but you know what they say, there's a very thin line between love and hate :rotfl:
Cheers for help and laughs all, MM:beer:
I think you are very right about that, best to just not say anything
We all know that what you are doing is fantastic, you've saved a lovely bull from a nasty end and now he'll be able to live out his years being looked after by a caring family.
Still want to see a pic of whiteface!:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my knickers:starmod: :staradmin :starmod:0 -

Can't wait to see a picture !!!

Well, you might be calling him Whiteface but I think he should be re-christened MSB. And taking the bull by the horns, so to speak, has he been de-budded? An affectionate poke in the ribs by a bullock with horns usually leads to a trip to A&E ! One little tip (can't remember if when necessary you're going to keep him in his own little house), don't get between him and the side of the little house as affectionately leaning on you will lead to another trip to A&E! Mind you, my friend's house cow was evil and would squash anyone up against the wall of the shed given half a chance. In the interests of not upsetting anyone I'll refrain from giving details of what to do if you find yourself squashed !.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I remember my french classes at school and being asked to say in French the type of animals we had as pets. I'll never forget the french teachers face when I said "mouton". (sheep)
Can you imagine what they would say to mortgagemamma's kids?0 -
right well.................first of all is it actually a bull or is it a bullock that has been castrated? as they are quite different in temperament and need slightly different care
how old is it?
has it been out in a field day and night?
what has it been fed on recently?
It will be fine out at thbis time of the year, if it had a field shelter it may miss it a bit but can shelter under a tree on in the lee of a hedge.
Food-have you got enough grass for it? at the moment this may not be a problem as grass is growing well but may become a problem later in the year,
has it been fed concentrates recently, because if it has you will need to provide them for a while at lease till you can gradualy wean him off them, a local farmers store/feedstore dhould be able to sell you this, if you can find out what he was fed that woyld help, but if not just ask for a basic beef mix as you dont need a high protien food designed for youngstock or dairy cows, i would say to feed about 4-5 double scooped handfulls each day, have you any idea what breed he is sounds like a hereford or maybe a simental but if you could post a pic i may be able to identify his breed for you,
have you got a field or is he in your garden?
oh and he will need a constant supply of clean water!
if you give some more info i will be able to help you more, good luck, jane
You beat me to it Jane.0 -
From a safety aspect because he is big and heavy you have to be careful around him even if he does have a placid temperament. Get him used to being led by a halter and never never wind the rope around your hand. Be very vigilant when you are in a stable/barn with him because he can crush you up against the wall and hurt you (or worse) without intending to. If you do not like the idea of a cow as a companion you might want to consider a donkey (you can adopt from a sanctuary) or a goat.
There is a price for this info – I might need to pick you brains in a professional capacity before long.0 -
if I were a donkey I would rather live with a donkey than a bull
a dexter is better
