  • hi all.
thanks for the codes i missed tuesdays. i did not manage to get booked lat year as i can only do school holiday and there was nothing, any advice?

also iv never been abroad with these how does it work and what are the extra costs involved. thanks/
We go abroad every year. We are charged about £60 extra for the site on top of the £150 (we go summer and take the sun insurance). We make our own way there and just turn up and have a great holiday!

been 3 times with the SUN and always have a fab time

we do Disney whilst there ( an hours drive from the site) and then spend the other days relaxing onsite. Loads for kids to do :)
Agree it's a great site. We have done it a number of times and there's plenty to see on site and off. The campsite do buses to Paris and Disney on alternate days. Nearby there are lots of chateau and interesting towns to browse.

What experiences have people had in Europe? What is the standard of accommodation like? Is it clean?
I have my priority code (bought from E.bay!) and I'm feeling confused about where to choose. I'm thinking of somewhere I France!
Please help!!! This is the first year I have done this & I want to make it a positive experience!
I find French sites are much better / nicer in general than UK sites

you do not pay for entertainments passes either

    we have been to
La Croix Du Vieux Pont 3 times ( 1 hour drive from Disneyland Paris )
Le Chene Gris ( purely as a base for Disney 15 mins drive
Le Ranolien in Brittany, fab site an gorgeous location
Les Mouettes ( only 20 mins drive from Roscoff )

Hoping for Les Menhirs in Carnac this time :)

we only do European SUN hols now really ,you save loads ( we can only go during school holidays)

When staying at La Crois de Vieux Pont, which ferry crossing have you done? I was thinking Dover to Calais maybe? How long is the journey from port to site?

    Thanks

hi what is the best place to go in Europe was looking to go in the April holidays with hubby and our 5 kids aged 11, 10, 8, 4 and 4 months? We will be driving so doesn't matter if it's hard to get to. We have driven to Italy before.
many of them wont be open until May
google the sites to see the season dates of each park you are interested in

Has anyone stayed with Eurocamp in a 2 bedroom Horizon mobile home please? They look small and I only have Thomson Al Fresco to compare with but that is all that is showing on the site that I wish to stay at.

Good luck everyone and thanks to all who have helped :T

I have, at Le Soleil in South of France last year. Was smallish but perfectly fine for our family of 4! Had decking area outside too which was lovely :)

Just looking at the dates available and they're mainly in term time. Last year we managed to get the August bank holiday weekend so we were hoping there would be some available for the summer holidays.
Do they make those dates available on a later promotion? Knew we were lucky last time but was hoping there would be some again. Thanks.
feb half term, easter hols,May half term and Oct half term are all included in this promo ;)

    next promo is in April
  • Can I ask whether you can take a small dog to this park? We usually choose Parkdean as we have always been able to add our dog on afterwards for £30 but reading the FAQ on Twitchen House it states you can only take your dog if you book directly with the park and not through 3rd party newspaper promotions which I find strange.

Has anybody taken their dog to this park before with the sun promotions? She is only a small non shedding terrier:D Maybe I cold hide her in my bag:rotfl:

    Many thanks

    xxx
hi i find if any site allows dogs its fine to take your dog but in the past when ive told haven sites about my little dog i end up with an awful caravan so for the past couple of years ive not told them about my dog and take her anyway get a much better van and save money too

No 3 beds available on site, I have checked. In what way are they different from Thomson al Fresco please? More basic, smaller ? We stayed in a Bellini last time.
Just not as "modern" decor wise ,and yeah bit more basic I guess

    still lovely though :)
  • i dont mean to be rude but

is there not another thread that we can have the general chit chat on please rather than this code cracking one as once the line is open and we get cracking if the word is not mare we are gonna get lost on this thread if other people are asking about recommendations and upgrades and dogs on sites etc.

    You are right!!!

I think this is the thread for general chit chat https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4363005

Hope this helps to free up this thread a bit.
