Sainsbury's too the SB salmon trimmings when I bought them used to be 90p. Then the price increased to £1.20 and I swear the pack size has reduced. The only addition to explain the hike to me seemed like extra salt they've added for some reason making it unpalatable. I checked again last week and its also £1.50 now like competitors. http://backtosainsburysbasics.blogspot.co.uk/2009/08/salmon-and-broccoli-baked-rice.html (used to be 88p)eBay 100 item challenge- 16/100 => £268.95

I recommend Lidl Ice Cream. They have "fancy" ice creams with flavours and quality similar to Carte D'Or at £1.69 - have been this price for at least 2 years.
Can't find a link, but the flavours are things like: Tiramisu, Marscarpone, Banana Split, Caramel, Crema di Frutta. (The latter incorporates frozen yogurt for a reduced calorie count).
In my experience, they rarely have all of the possible flavours in stock at the same time, though.0 -
Tesco value noodles are now 40p :shocked:0

what we need is a regulator with teeth, its easy to see what they doing, they should be able to. its simple.
set a fine whenever they do this practice, set the fine high enough to make it not profitable, meaning the fines should amount to 100s of millions, the practice will soon stop, although of course sales will probably dissapear overnight but we at least may then see honest prices.0 -
Record harvests for cereal crops and fruit mean supermarkets should now be dropping their prices.....but let's wait and see who are the honourable organisations!0

The problem with fining supermarkets is the only income they have comes from the pockets of their customers. So the customers end up paying the fine.
Supermarkets just see fines as another expenditure, and increase their prices to cover it.
A better way to do it would be to license the man/woman at the top, and if a supermarket breaks the rules remove the license so they can no longer do their job.0 -
There was a glut of courgettes this summer and I was buying three organic courgettes for 1.55 from Riverford but Sainsbury's still had them at £2 for three.0

Asda was £1 for 3. Aldi was 89p for 3.0

Running low on milk that we usually buy from Poundland I nipped into town to stock up.
Usually buy long life milk at 2 for £1, its now 3 for £2 making it no cheaper than supermarkets at 66p per litre or £1 per litre if you dont take up the offer. I have to say I left without bothering to get any shopping at all.
