    Isn't it cleverclogs?

I've worked it out to £2.78 per kilo which is as near as damnit 10% as you're likely to get unless you're extremely pedantic and just trying to pick holes in a new member's post.

    Not valid.

This thread is for ridiculous increases.

A 20% increase in the price of chicken seems pretty ridiculous to me.
  • The Asda chicken price increase is actually 11.1%.

I ventured into my local Tresco earlier this week as I needed their cheap petrol. I haven't been grocery shopping there since the winter months and the costs of everything simply staggered me. The first aisle of special offers had a £1 shop - as though by making the price of everything so easily countable, they are making it a good deal! The fruit and veg, for someone used to shopping in Alki and Lido, were a total rip-off. I simply can't believe anyone would pay those sort of prices. I came out with milk and a reduced-price chicken.

More than the prices themselves, the sheer range of goods totally surplus to requirements was gob-smacking. I see they are producing packet mixes for the slow cooker now, which totally defeats the point of using one to use up bits and pieces to make a cheap and nutritious meal. Pretty soon only the retired generation will know how to cook a meal from scratch!

Tesco water up from 17p to 24p. Left it on the shelves. Headed to Asda. I know it's hot but don't stick the arm in.

Is there a seasonal fluctuation in the price of fresh produce? I wonder.
