I noticed prices on tesco online shop are different from prices instore,i'm checking receipts after every shop as i have bought alot of products that were reduced or on special offer but still got charged full price which really annoys me because wouldn't have bought it other wise,i have started looking online at asda, morrisons, sainsburys and tesco before i go shopping and if one of the shops has more on offer of the products i'm going to buy that's where i go,i also check if i can get free delivery or money off home delivery and would just get my shopping delivered to save on travel costs.0

Due to really tight budgets for food at the moment I have become acutely aware of how much can be saved by shopping around.
I still do use Tesco for some bits, but have saved loads at Aldi and by shopping around. Walkers crisps today have gone up to £1.68 for a pack of six!! I only ever buy if the price is £1 or less for 6 and I can get Walkers for that at Iceland so bye-bye Tesco!
Other items I save regularly on are pepperoni which is 79p in Aldi or £1.70 in Tesco, passata (shocking price in Tesco), small box juices for lunch boxes which are currently 90p for six in Aldi or £1.79 in my local Tesco and of course the super 6 veg and fruit offers and 39p for 3 bags of bananas in Aldi which would cost much more in Tesco. Just on three or four items there is usually over a pound difference between the two stores.0 -
I'm doing my online shop at the min and the prices are unreal. I was buying Tesco's maple & pecan crisp cereal, it was £1.09 for a few weeks has since shot up too £1.89. Needless to say I've not bought it since, it's lovely but it's only a 500g bag mostly full of air. Cheapo cat litter also up in price and the quality of it is dire, I had 2 bags in cupboard for bad weather and it contains nothing but powder. Getting harder and harder each week to stick within a budget, don't have car so online with Tesco has to do at the minute, also save up points.I love this place :j:T:j0

Don't take Clubcard points too seriously. They really aren't worth as much as you can save by switching stores. And don't forget, Tesco isn't usually the only store that delivers.0 -
How are people differing between a rip-off price hike and a genuine, unavoidable price increase?
You won't hear me moaning about how much Tesco have put up the price of the potatoes, because I know it's not down to Tesco, it's down to the rotten harvests.0 -

Maybe but I got a 25Kg sack of spuds from the local grocers for £7.50 while the equivalent weight, i.e. 10x2.5Kg bags from Tescos would have required a mortgage. How are people differing between a rip-off price hike and a genuine, unavoidable price increase?

The price hikes are all over at the moment and ridiculous, last Wednesday I paid £1.15 for smartprice mushrooms in asda and yesterday they were £1.50, that's crazy, and it's not like they have a loyalty scheme to be paying out on. I have a tiny shopping budget at the moment and had to put something back as I couldn't afford everything on my list. Gah sorry for hijacking a thread to rant

If you have a Lidl near you, Mushrooms are usually 89p, sometimes less when on special offer.
