Sorry to post here but I thought this breaking news would really interest many compers. I have started a thread on compers chat corner for comments so if you wish to discuss please join us there but I wanted people to see the link.

This is indeed sad news. I use both Loquax and MSE. Both are different, somethings I like on Loquax and somethings I like on MSE.

To be honest this is not really a shock. I think over the last year or so sometimes you could read between the lines of posts by Jason and I have thought that Loquax would possible end at some point.

However Loquax was my first site for comping and I am eternally grateful as I have won some fantastic prizes via listings on Loquax.

I will miss it

It should be noted that we are not closing Loquax

The forums will remain open to users as long as they wish to use them – and the rest of the site (other than the listing service) will continue as normal. Our Facebook and Twitter presence will also continue and we don’t intend to depart from the comping scene altogether. In time we hope to find a new role within the comping community.


reading it it says to me it's just the listing service closing ?

I think it will build thier community base on the forums, like MSE - more community input. They moderate all new additions to the listings, I can imagine the backlog that they have simply based on the ammount of new competitions posted on MSE every day.

I wonder what the site will become though, as at present is it a primarily a competition portal / bingo advertising site. (To an outsider who is not part of thier community.)

Once that process has been completed then changes will be made to the site to realign its focus in other areas.
maybe they mean the forum ?

Must admit I never use Loquax - so it doesn't effect me at all!

I have to say I used loquax a little more than I used this forum only because I found the tracking easier. I'm gutted! But you never know, someone with the know how may make a new listings site and if not we will all find other ways

My respect for loquax went today on their news and their failure to give their loyal users ANY warning! I think that was a pretty poor show to just announce it today and inform their users it was with 'immediate effect' yeah thanks for that loquax! They must have known they were going to do this for quite some time... Its not just a quick decision thing... I just think they could have warned people a little earlier. There will be many a user today who will be like a rabbit caught in headlights, not knowing where on earth to start regarding comping now! There's a hell of alot of people on that site that only comp from there and nowhere else at all! I'm just glad I started using other avenues quite some time ago aswell as there or I would have been one of them!! :mad:
I used loquax solely for many many years.. Won some good stuff, and am grateful for ever finding the site but with an owner who suddenly seemed to despise it's users i guess it was only going to be a matter of time.
