Loquax closing / not posting comps anymore!!

I think if people have disagreements that have arisen from Loquax then they either need to sort it out over there or just let it go and move on.

It's not a good idea to bring it over here and it's really not very nice to see people being tetchy and accusatory with each other on here about posts and users on another site when it really has nothing to do with this site at all.

I also really don't understand why people have to choose between the two sites, why can't they just use them both, there's enough space for everyone on all sites, no? Just keep the disagreements on the site they've come from.

jason always saw loquax as a money making site. and you couldnt be allowed to have your own opinion on there. it was either his way or there wasnt any other way.

We none of us know the reasons behind this, but I for one would like to wish Jason all the best for the future and whatever his reasons are, I hope that everything works out for him. For some compers, this may mean a big change to their, but for Jason, it may change his life. I have not used Loquax to any great extent, but on the times that I have seen his posts on here, he has always appeared to be kind and helpful, so all the best Jason :beer:

I have no idea what is going on and only had a quick browse of this topic but I was banned from loquax twice for no reason. I could never really get on with the website but am to used to MSE.

I'm pretty sure you just pushed him to his limits and took the P.

Jason and Kirsty have always seemed like very fair and hardworking admins. I hope 2013 is good to them. :T

Have stayed out of this one, didn't get on with Loquax but maybe that's because my feeble brain was already used to the MSE style when I started comping last year, having been a member here for years.
I would imagine it was a very hard decision by Loquax given their massive user base, and it was not done lightly & I wish them every success in future ventures.
But to join this site today just to abuse members is not very mature, is no "hardcore gang" on here, and as a new comper I was made to feel very welcome and never came across any "holy grail", or anyone disliking me because I was new.
Maybe it's the way you portray yourself that gets peoples hackles rising, as I have never come across any such behaviour in my time here.

Why have people come here to vent about Loquax? It has it's own forum, go and tulip in there.

I use both sites and liked the easy navigation on Loquax (and being able to quickly see how many comps I'd entered each month). I'll miss that and will keep an eye on how it develops over there...at the moment it's suffering from headless chicken syndrome. Until that settles down there will be a lot of gnashing of teeth on either side I'm afraid...

(And hopefully these people won't be entering comps as they argue so I've a greater chance of winning :rotfl: )

This thread was supposed to be a discussion regarding an interesting development in the comping world of which we are all clearly interested in.

People hiding behind fake profiles to post nasty things is just so cowardly and uncalled for. There are clearly deeper underlying issues that come from other sites and keep them there or pm each other as i for one just don't care about petty squabbles or want to read a barrage of negatively. It's not big or clever.

I have been a member of MSE for several years and have never personally experienced a clique here and i hope that never happens.

Please stop posting nasty things or ill pm a board guide and have this thread deleted. which is a shame as people have valid and interesting points to discuss.

This is a hobby that is supposed to spread droplets of joy into ours and our loved ones lives - not internet trolling hatred.

Goodness me, some of the posts on this thread bode well for the manners and courtesy of the friendly and gentle Duckys that may be forced over to the nasty and savage dark side of MSE comping...

Its a sad day for genuine Loquax members. I can only imagine it was a challenging decision for Jason and co to take, but it wouldn't suprise me at all if the forums didn't try and pick up the slack and the comps were posted in there.

Anyhows this is MSE here, please be polite and nice to each other, debate by all means, but no need to make nasty and/or personal attacks on each other.
