Thought I would give you all a laugh - it could only happen to me!!! I brought a full theatre to a standstill!

took dad with me to see Showaddywaddy, they made the annoucement no photos - these 2 woman in front of me for the 1st 3 songs did nothing but take photos - the angle of our seat meant that we were looking through their cameras. The one had a camera and her mobile phone!

he stewardess came and told them they couldn't take photos' they said they could, both dad and I said, that the angle we were all we could see was her with the cameras.

They ignored the stewardess, so she said she would get the duty mgr, , he spoke to them, they said Showaddywaddy said we could take photos as long as no flash, this was still going on and by now there was about 8 of us that had complained to the manager.
Next thing, I walked up to the stage, the group didnt know what to do, I shouted at top of my voice, - basically apologising for disturbing everyone but like everyone else I have paid to be here and I cant see the show for the people with cameras - the duty mgr as much use as a choc teapot - by this time Showaddywaddy stopped singing they were gobsmacked, - people were shouting there spoiling our view by using cameras, so I said that we should be refunded and they should be stopped, next minute the duty manager comes across and tells them to stop taking photos, - the theatre was full, stalls, dress circle and top circle - i stopped the show for about 2 mins, worked, when I went to the loo at the interval - I lost count of the number of people who stopped to say well done, they were even coming up to dad and saying well done, they were more shocked at the fact that I had stood up and done it.

Later on the one woman turned round and started moaning - so i said would you like a picture, oh sorry you can't can you, you can't use your camera!

How the hell I never got barred or chucked out of the theatre don't know
! On the way out one of their friends came up and muttered something, so i said, don't think you really want to take me on do you, I have a gob, and i'm not afraid to use it. She stalked off........

bar that the show was absolutley brilliant, although out of the original Showaddywaddy there is just 2 of the original line up, the new ones theyve taken the spirit of the group.

Think we may be hiding for a few days!! Thou booked to go to theatre again in 2 weeks, but thats a play - so shouldn't get into any trouble....

Mum2one, what are you like lol, good for you for sticking up for yourself xx

I have cut out the fabric to make some little wallets for shopping list, pencil, and a pocket for coupons. Hope they come out ok, just doing a couple first to see if they work out, making up a pattern as I go out of paper so I can cut out some more though. I bought pack of 12 pencils in 99p store, going to try cutting them in half and resharpening the end bit as they would be too long for the wallet as they are. Got two packs of small notebooks too, 4 in each, might get another pack when I am up the town later.

Got to go up there to post some cushions off that sold last night, they were the campervan ones so only have one left out of the 4 I made.#

Hoping OH might help me try the gazebo out today so I can measure it up for my bunting.

Finished off two more book bags yesterday, not good enough to sell but they would be good enough for my nieces and ed for Christmas, not being horrible to them. There isnt much wrong with them but I am fussy over what I try to sell. Need to get some more glue up town. What glue are you others using? First one I used my glue gun but it used loads of glue up and I didnt want to keep paying out for it as its not cheap to buy. The last few I made I used Uhu glue, it sets hard so gave a good grip but is messy to use and takes ages to dry and was quite hard to keep the bits together while sticking.

Well done mum2one, you shouldn't have to put up with people ruining the show when you have paid just as much to enjoy it as everyone else.

I wanted to say thanks for the tip on the bunting Rufusdog, I found a template online which I traced onto paper (printer not working) and used fabric pen to draw around the template onto the fabric, doubled it over and it took moments to cut my flags on one strip instead of individually :T Shall sew them up later, my daughter saw all the triangles and got so excited bless her (3 years old) apparently you cannot have a birthday party without upside down triangles lol, if they turn out ok I may start on some Christmas bunting too :)

I can't believe there is less than six months to go, I'm not as organised as I would like to be, I'm going to be on pinterest most of the day I think for hamper inspiration!

Christmas bunting would be fab savvy, I made some last year and it sold so quickly, will definitely be making some more this year. I have bought a little contraption to make my own bias binding, you cut strips and pull it through this thing and then press what comes out. Havent tried it out yet but will when I know how much bunting I need for the gazebo

    Hello all,

I hope you don't mind me popping in.

I've been following this thread for a while now and find all your thrifty gifting very inspiring.

I've been doing lots of surveys and earning money through Top Cash Back, so I've got quite a bit collected in my Amazon account. I've been adding things I think would be good for presents to my Wishlist. The thing I'm struggling with is whether to buy now or wait. I've been thinking of getting my dad Taken 2 for Christmas and it's just dropped down to £5, considering it's only been out for a few months, that seems pretty good. I'm just scared that if I don't buy it it'll shoot up again and I won't get it as cheap.

I was just wondering what all you seasoned bargain hunters do in this sort of situation?

    Thanks x

Hi, a big welcome, pop in anytime were a friendly lot, sounds like your doing well with the vouchers etc,
I think with the DVD I would grab it now, it sounds like a good price, I don't know what the original was sorry, I work on the basis, what would I pay for it, would I be happy with £5, - does Amazon still do the price guarantee they had before.

I had a fright in the week, been keeping an eye on a netbook on Argos for DD, - was £179, reduced to £129. There was pink and a purple, looked the other ngt and the purple had shot back up to £179. In the end I just grabbed the pink ones, more luck than judgement only 2 available within the 10 local stores (50 mile radius) and that was my home town! Out of stock for home delievery!

    xx

Thanks for that mum2one, that's kind of what I was thinking. It was £10 to start with, went down to £8 and the to £5, so I think I'll go for it. It's just nice to hear someone else thinks the same way.

Wow, you were lucky with that netbook- £129 is a great price! Sounds like you know how to get a good bargain :T

Thanks again and I'll definitely be popping in again :p

Mum2 one - trust you .. Standing up and sorting it out. Lol , I think alot of managers don't want confrontation and I think they're advised against it . DD got a train and had a reserved ticket for her seat. When she got on there was lady sat in it and it was clearly marked. She asked her to move, she refused so DD asked the guard, who asked the lady to move, she refused.

The outcome- he said I can't deal with that , she could get confrontational and company policy , leave them to it. Well DD stood over her kept telling her to move and starred her out until she moved

Julie - I'd buy it if I seem it. Too many times I wished I had and regretted it. Have a new policy with clothes though, if I see something I want , I do t get it and after an hour or two if I still want it, I go back and get it . If I get it I really want it , if I don't then I couldn't have wanted it in the first place.

I like the sound of bunting too, especially for Xmas .

Well I have everything for making a book bag, I was going to use modge podge , never gave it a thought to see if it would work lol

Rufus like the sound of the wallets... Always looking for bits of paper and coupons always floating about somewhere. When I was in America they sold purses for coupons

That sounds a lovely idea, I'd go for a pick and mix of items
    Cotton wool balls
    Cotton wool pads
    tear off cotton wool
    nail polish remover
    make up brushes
    make up applicator sponges
    pocket mirror
    face mask sachets
    nail files
    make up remover wipes
    lip balm
    Shower scrub
    Puffa
Small size shampoo, shower gel (soap and glory something like that)

make up - I would use the MUA range from Superdrug - £1 each - at 16 she may be fussy with colours so I would get a couple of make up items

Stick to Black mascara (can't really go wrong)

    Clear nail varnish
    bright nail varnish

    ---
I know it seems a lot of prep and take off stuff, but it sounds daft thats the bits that can add up for a 16 yr old and they may well have their own style for make up.

Hope it gives a few ideas to start u off xx
