I cant find any books in our charity shops echo, only paper backs, the hard backs are just big ones. One shop does have some old books but they are charging a lot of money for them

next plan is to read the hardbook books that have, - thinking as there modern to placing some photos printed onto normal A4 paper - glue them then pop some varnish over them - floating idea. I'm getting exicted for summer holidays xx

  • Welcome AJ:wave:.... Love the idea of snowman soup....:)
I copy and paste links/ ideas etc from here and keep them on a list on my PC to cook/ make/ find/ buy...... The list is endless.:)

    Rufus
The books that I have seen are too expensive to cut up:mad: but I will continue looking....

I am mid prep for DD 18th:eek::eek::eek::eek: which is on 1st June....

I am doing "sophisticated" nibbles as she calls them. No sausage rolls allowed. (Any ideas for easy but good looking nibbles will be greatly received;))

I am making a fish bowl and have ordered the Nerds candy as gravel :jand Swedish fish sweets that I am going to impale on cocktail stick dyed blue in the hope of anchoring them to the bottom to look like they are live fish:)......otherwise I'm not sure if they will sink or float (and dead fish are not a good look:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) Got a plastic plant to put in there too.;)
Just read this back and not sure if I am making sense or not:o:o:o
Please feel free to let me know if it sounds like i am losing the plot here!!!:D

The decorations have arrived:j:j....Loads of pink sparkly 18th "stuff" but I have just seen on DD FB page that she has set up an Event page for aforementioned "do" and I'm NOT invited:mad::mad::mad:

I was really looking forward to a night out on the lash in "the Toon" :beer:but it was not meant to be

Never mind.... Please DO offer any suggestions if you have been through the same food planning nightmare.....or not!!!!
    Thanks
    xxx
Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
    Loving de-cluttering

Different people make it different ways

    Cone -
Got some cello cones - add 4 tablespoons of hot chocolate to the bottom, then layer on some grated chocolate and marshmelllows seal add a candy cone (usually get box of 10 - poundland)

    (cheats version!! (my version)
Can either use a cello bag or even a foodbag

Prebuy the sachets of hot chocolate - usually get 4 sachets for £1 (maltersers, cadburys highlights, galaxy)

Use 1 sachet - left in packet
    Add candy cone
Add marshmellows - put a handful in clingfilm - tie the top with curling ribbon

    Add a poem

Clip art - a snowman design
    add the poem

    Snowman Soup
"I was told you had been good this year,
I'm always glad to hear it,
    With freezing weather drawing near,
Heres a cup of snowman soup
    Complete with stirring stick
add warm water, sip it slow
its sure to do the trick

you can swop the candy stick for a plastic spoon dipped into chocolate a few times, and then pop the clingfilm around the bottom of the spoon tie up with curling ribbon.

You can pop everything into the mug and use the cello bag for the outside.
