Hi all,
Thanks for the party ideas.:T
Mum2one….Yes, it seems they are starting at chez NitNnurse with cocktails and nibbles before going off to town.
I remember my 18th vividly. Hope she enjoys hers as much.:D
RufusDog….Sounds fab and a great excuse for everyone to wear their prom dresses again.;)
AJ I’ve saved the link for the party food and will get her to choose some.:)
Mrs-moneypenny, I never thought of getting ready prepared food as I always do everything form scratch. A platter may be useful to bulk out the home made stuff.:T
Susan 42…. copy and paste all links/ pics/ ideas etc straight onto docs so they are there for when I need them.
Thanks again all

Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say

Apologies for the delay - so glad u like them, when I got them the bloke in the shop was laughing as we were like want some for thrifty prize, then got some for, Miss hoodie, me and then we knew mum would want one, the little purses, Miss Hoodie got about 6, she had to have one of each colour and design.
Thank you for everything, xxxxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

In the next 3 weeks (when I am away & have (in theory!)unlimited time and space I am going to try out painted shoe boxes. Did some much smaller cardboard boxes on last cruise and they turned out great. Someone painted theirs in GS team colours with football cut outs!!
Gift boxes? Jewellery boxes? storage boxes? might make hampers too! Also bought a couple of fancy shapes at CB for 10pence each- yes, I was robbed.
Have begged some boxes from local shoe shop.
You use 2 coats emulsion on outside including the bottom and then decorate with decoupage, or tissue, or painted design (emulsion again) such as stripes, teeny flowers, aboriginal designs and then 2 coats water based matt or satin varnish to seal. Then 2 coats emulsion inside in toning or contrast which can be left unvarnished.
Thing is now Dulux have their testers 3 for £1 instead of £1.55 each! just bought some in B & Q. Have bought the darkest colours as it is easy to mix with white for pale hues (and I have masses of white)
Wish I could puzzle out how to post pics. Don't hold your breath but will try when I have some shoe boxes done.
You can also use emulsion on wooden items too- again seal with water based varnish.
That sounds brilliant, I usually just be boring and chuck some xmas paper around it, then do the parcel in cello wrap.
Photos - you may need to go through "photobucket" upload your photos to there, this then gives u a link and you post the link. My computer won't upload direct, so i have to use photobucket. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Haven't gone mad (thou it does feel like it... ) the darling school!!! The woman that caused all the problems last yr as now wondered back in like no-ones business and took her position in the school office!! really freaked Miss hoodie out, - last thing she expected - trying to deal with that at the mo!!
Fun with the furniture, - Argos rang this morning - change the delievery date - was due on Monday - now 4th June...... ok,...... about an hr later phone goes - Argos auto system - your order has been cancelled, please wait to speak to an advisor, -hanging on about 10 mins (at their expense!!) to be told youve been dialed in error!! ignore the call - so I asked as they had changed the delievery and we need to make sure someone in can they refund £9 delievery - got a yes - all helps out.
We have raided the vouchers fund - Miss Hoodie had her back pack, and then ordered her a scooter that has the 2 feet piece £60 - she'll get a wack of use out of it, and we go on hol to Wales - fold up in my boot,
So I have ordered a new sat nav - the battery gone in mine - about 5 yrs old, - thought get battery and not that wasted £20quid, - so have a new one en-route - get some use we've been invited to an engagement party in July, - middle of Cheshire somewhere - saves me trying to map read.
Thats just given me a money saving idea - how many of us have old atlases hanging around, - if your doing a hamper for a man, you could use the old Atlas paper as coverings for the box. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
OMG I hadn't subscribed to the thread and thought nobody had been posting!!!
Well here I am back and now have 30+ pages to catch up on!!!

I'm on bedrest so can't do any of the sewing I had planned, but hopefully Tuesday I can get onto some of the other stuff I'm planning on crafting.
Since it is perfectly reasonable to have laptop in bed, I am also doing some shoppingstill need a couple of things for my Dad, not sure what though or if it is too soon to buy them - he's just finished radiotherapy and everything looks good, but you never know, do you?

Mum2one - you will be missed, have a great hol and sooty about any hassle you're having.
Sugar spun - hope you ok and take full advantage of you bed rest because sometimes life gets so busy
Nitnurse - I'm making a website and am going to put all the ideas on there. As I store so much on my computer can never find anything. Thought if I built a website I'll be able to find my own things lol. I always use Iceland to bulk out my own buffets. Cupcakes usually go well as you can decorate them up or down depending in occasion
Lol at pips mum ... We don't say a lot but I put that down to us crafting and organising a lot ;-)
I'm away for a few days hoping to take advantage of the lovely weather we suppose to be having . We'll see ... I'm in bed waiting for it OH outside with the George foreman making me a bacon Sarnie . Won't let him inside the splashes of fat get everywhere lol
Aj - magazines and free things wow wow
Rufus - how's your craft fairs going? I only do the Xmas one that's enough for me. My next door neighbour bought a sweet tree £ 15 ...it was about 8 inches high But wanted me to do her one for £5 !!!Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0
