Ladies can I rack your brains, I know I'll get a more sensible answer than from Miss Hoodie ( as bless her when I asked her she says no there too expensive),

Its not her bday till Sept, - just to get an idea, she does like the look of ipods, so with the voucher making helping, mum and I figured that we would go joint and get her an ipod. I know nothing about them when i ask madam she says there too expensive -but theres classic, nano and thats all i get out of her, Trying to budget if anyone could give me any suggestions (think it have to be Amazon - hoping to have £100 towards it by then..)

    Thank you xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I will not look at Katie's links, I will not... Wow did you see that book art and lol at the link with the picture missing.

My oddest item is DS... Now he's definitely odd. ... Lol

Have to think about that ... As even though you'd think my things odd I love them...

As regards iPods mum2one... If you can afford it iPod touch are the best... Don't know exactly how much they go for new... Have to check it out ...the others are just for mp3s really. iPod touch like mini iPad. I will peruse 'A' to see best value one ...can't get link on phone... If you type in iPod touch 16gb , it's about £129 but prices do move about in summer . So might come in around £100

    hi all

    Lovely bag Rufus.

Interesting ideas re the book clutch bag.

Loved the stories about the past life possibilities. Recall a friend telling me that when she was little, she could remember being a boy wearing old fashioned clothes, you know the socks and breeches types and used to talk about the house she/he lived in. Reading books where kids come up with names that match places, real people etc it does make you wonder what is really going on.

I've had some strange experiences myself, but not quite the same, in my case it was people I met that were complete strangers but had very weird feelings about them and they had about me, some really odd things happened as a consequence.

Thanks for the challenge mum2one, I needed to be reminded about the prescription as I gave mine to the doctors last Monday and when I went to collect it on Thursday at the chemist they said it never arrived, and I completely forgot about it until now.

You are being hopeful about the sun lotion lol the way our weather is this year. Last time this year it was very sunny.

Well done Susan on the win. That's strange about opium. I found our recently that if you take a drugs test and have been eating bread with poppy seeds it can show up.

    Thank you for the links!

This one looks like the way to go - http://m.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-a-purseclutch-from-a-Book/

I've just ordered a hardback copy of Midsummer Night's Dream for peanuts as pages underlined, creased etc so I won't feel bad about cutting it up! Chose that book as it was one of our A Level texts a thousand years ago and we can still recite chunks (terrifying teacher drummed it into us!)

Haha Miss Hoodie's description is hilarious!! :rotfl:

Re sun cream check out Avon if you need any more, can't remember the exact price now but very reasonable I thought.

Thanks for the links, those bags definitely look the kind of thing my 4 nieces would go for, they love quirky bags, three of them are at Uni, reckon I might be able to sell some too if I can find some good books to use. Will be scouring the boot fairs xx

thank you for the challenges, some really good ones on the list.

    Santas Challenge - MARCH

    -Prescriptions-

Next Sunday is Easter Sunday - so that means no GP service,Fri to Mon (unless you have a walk in NHS nearby) - then trying to get anappointment is like gold dust. So if you need a prescription check in the nextday or so, to allow your turnaround by Thursday

just back from taking mil to the drs made her next appt while we were there and did her prescrips at the beginning of the month.

    -Easter Eggs-
The shops are now starting to out do each other with offers- Home Bargains - 16 Cadburys Eggs £1, plus offers on mini eggs, mini carameleggs, Caramel Bunny
thanks for the info on the home bargains creme eggs, need to check through what ive got a make sure everyone is covered

    -£2 Challenge-
We've had some brilliant entries for the £2 challenge, fromSusan with her lucky lottery ticket, to Sugar Spun with her ice-cream, keepthose £2 treats coming in Miss Hoodie choose the winner before Mays SantaChallenge
i spent mine on bird seed as i get pleasure watching and with the weather being so manky they needed a bit of extra help.

    -Summer - Sun Tan Lotion-
This may not be the weather, but a good idea, to see whetheryou have any or need any more. Generally rule of thumb is sun-tan lotion canlast 2 years provided kept cool. What I do is when we go out is pop a suntanlotion in with a lunchbox (keeps it cool - doesn't take too much room).
ive got a box full of sunscreen/lotions in all honesty i think its about past its usefulness as its a couple of years old at least, will sort through and either use it as body lotion or bin it. not awat till summer so will get new supplies then

    -Spring Cleaning-
Yes it is our favourite time of the year - so any tips onmaking it easier spread the word. - Bar shut the door and do it again!!
i find following the flylady thread so find little and often helps. someone on there gives the best piece of advice as "dont put it down put it away" im also trying to declutter as im finding if things dont have a home they will always lay about and then they multiply

    -Miss Hoodies Corner-

The part we all love - shes called this "DustCollectors" - do you find yourself with a hoard of DVDs that you neverwatch, - a stack of CDs that were great but you have transferred the music toMP3 / Ipods, books, ??????? So whether you see if you can sell them, (moneymagpie dvds/cds), ready for carboot or the charity shop, - see what surprisesturns up.
we are working our way through the vast amount of dvds that we have and trying to watch more of them, new rule is if its a 'one watch' it gets given away or donated to charity and doesnt go back in the racks/cupboards

If you don't have a big collection or there already neat andtidy - then pick a room/ wardrobe / chest of draws etc -somewhere that tends tohave everything chucked in and not really sorted..........
i think ill aim to do both, the attic is my this years project to clear at least 1/3 of the 28 years of clutter we have stored up there

Last but not least -Challenge No 2 -

As we've extended the £2 challenge - thought we could have a2nd one who finds the oddest item in their hoard - there be a little prize.

leave this one with me as im bound to come up with something, it just whittling it down to one item that will be the problem for me :rotfl:

As always treat it as a pick and mix, we're not really going to crack the whip! xx

    I love Santa's Challenge!

    Santas Challenge - MARCH

    -Prescriptions-

We're all up to date on ours, I have my new box of pregnancy vitamins and DH came back from the pharmacy with his big bag o' meds last week. Beating the rush :D

    -Easter Eggs-

 my mum is sending us "some Easter eggs - I might have gone a bit overboard". We're still eating the "restrained" amount she sent us at Christmas!

    -£2 Challenge-

If we're doing another one of these I might need another ice cream.

    -Summer - Sun Tan Lotion-

I think we ran out last year, but I'll wait till I see some on offer before getting any. I also need to see whether kindergarten will re-lotion her in the middle of the day, although she has her dad's skin and is apparently unburnable.

    -Spring Cleaning-

Break it into manageable pieces. I found an eight-hour spring clean on Pinterest I'm going to follow: http://www.oprah.com/home/Spring-Cleaning-Checklist-Room-by-Room_1/1

    -Miss Hoodies Corner-

    "DustCollectors"

I'm planning to go through all our stored baby clothes - there was so much we didn't use or I didn't like and/or that is stained and yucky. The plan is to keep a reasonable amount of wardrobe choices for the new baby plus all my favourite bits, and then after that sort into flea market/ebay/charity bin piles and get rid of.

If you don't have a big collection or there already neat andtidy - then pick a room/ wardrobe / chest of draws etc -somewhere that tends tohave everything chucked in and not really sorted..........

I'm also sorting my magic storage cupboard this week.

Last but not least -Challenge No 2 -

As we've extended the £2 challenge - thought we could have a2nd one who finds the oddest item in their hoard - there be a little prize.

    I'm sure there'll be something...
