Wonder if you could make a personalised cookery book? Find suitable recipes off the net and print them out.
Or make the hamper of jams, chutneys, booze (like the spiced rum, limoncello, sloe gin etc!!) and print out the recipes you have used so that he could repeat them- if he liked.

If he's into eco things then perhaps pack it all (or whatever you choose) in an upcycled container, your make of shopping bag?

Forgot to say that in Mr T yesterday there were some rather nice cable scarves on the reduced rail @ £2 in rust & denim-ish blue. (I mean who would want a woolly scarf in March!!!!!??????) Not sure about the fur bobbles- which could be removed. Thought I would crotchet a toning hat or knit mitts to make a present. Scarves had been £9 I think!

    Hello again

Glad you had a nice day today Echo in the unusual birthday setting,

    Challenge -

Collected medicine, it had been sent to a different chemist than I expected hence it wasn't available. Pharmacist was good as he recalled my name (unusual spelling) being mentioned in a call yesterday and he phoned them.

I had an unexpected decluttering and cleaning session this evening all because I bought a load of small freezer bags lol I needed some more self fastening ones for the Easter collage envelope and then I recalled reading how someone kept their handbag tidy using them, so I turned out my bag and sorted it out. Then I used them for a drawer in my bedroom that has medicines. I couldn't believe how much there was!!!

Mostly it was bandages, ball of foot cushions, strange gadgets in case of various injuries eg neck, RSI, loads of ankle supports, creams, pills etc.
I know Miss Hoodie has a challenge who can find the strangest thing also in the drawer was a shower curtain, and curtain tie back and new sunglasses in a pack - no idea they were in there.

Then impromptu spring cleaning, ex sorted a plumbing problem in the downstairs loo and I decided to give it a clean. However.........it turned out to be a massive ordeal because ages ago I had spilt a blusher, the type that's made of tiny coloured balls, I kept finding stains on the carpet all over the house a while back and knew it was them. Anyhow, when I started cleaning the toilet floor, more of them appeared and the floor ended up orange and no matter how many times I cleaned it, the stains seemed to spread. Whilst I was at it, I did the kitchen floor and noticed all sorts of strange things over the bottom of the fridge so started cleaning that too, then around the tops of the door frames in that area..

I had imagined that I'd skip the cleaning part of the challenge yet ended up doing more than expected.

Today I bought two Lindt chocolate bunny packs - a load of small ones in each box, they were 3.50 each but exactly what I wanted. DS in the care home will no doubt get loads of eggs but with this pack he can keep it at my house and have a few on each of his visits as he always likes a treat box he can dip into. The other one has gone off chocolate or so he said at Christmas but might fancy a small bit now and again.

Today in Wilkinson bought sets of star cutters- labelled "Kids cookie cutters" 5 in set great for Christmas biscuits, pastry, peppermint creams etc or draw round for felt star decorations. Were £1.25, now £1

Also "create & decorate- decorator & cookie press." Was £4 now £1. Has plastic "gun", 6 icing nozzles and 10 decorator discs including a Christmas tree & 7 point starburst. Piped biscuits for hampers or even a stocking filler? My friend said her 6 year old grandson would love one!

Just seen this idea in new edition Easy Living- dried flowers mounted between sheets of glass- looks very effective with dainty items like fancy grasses.
    Details here:

ps: The only drawback I can see is that you can't hang them up- they are propped against the wall!

I'm another one jumping in...after a year or so of
reading! Am I being simple, is there a reason why you couldn't just arrange them on white paper to get the same effect as in the picture? I would love to do one for my DDS room but her wall is a deep people so I think it wouldn't look so good.
