Ended up at matlan - getting some clothes for holiday - she got a few bits, and pr of sandals for £6 so really plzed with that price. Cant wait, - just sorting everything else out, but were not sure wether Grandad Hoodie has broke his wrist - he fell out on a patch of black ice - got the Gp 2mor - then I have a feeling he be in plaster! all we need! xx

Lol at Angela, I was accident prone when I was small seems like Miss Hoodie is too.

Well what an odd day I've had, Plan A on DS Easter gift went according to plan, its no big secret but don't want to say yet what I`m making as it might not work. lol

I missed the post man, dont know how , was waiting special delivery, went and picked it up earlier and I fixed my TV with it so chuffed with that as its a 50" one. OH dont need food he has a fondness for TV`s, if you remember sent him for fridge freezer and he came back with a TV.

    So happy sorted.

Went to fat club and stayed the same which is a miracle. Sunday I had jam roly poly with lashings of cream, then 5 chocolate bars and a Mcdonalds, had a bit of a munchies day. That's without all the normal food. which included bacon sarnies. Full roast dinner and cherrios. I can hear you saying it , Miss Piggy...lol

Then I lost the keys and cant find them anywhere so have to get new locks.... that's the bad bit....

And DS car failed MOT and needs quite a few things doing, only little things but they mount up, positive though, he has the money to pay for it, so I`m well pleased with that

Hows everyone doing? Any problems with the snow. We`re ok ...

And I found a lovely little gift shop today in the next village. Was in there ages chatting away to the lady, what a lovely person

Anyhow I`ll shut up now and stop boring you , not usually so chatty but OH away for the week working in Holland so I`m lacking conversation...

Sounds like quite a day Susan!!! How annoying about the keys. I really hope that they show up.

Could I please pick your brains lovely thrifty gifters?

My friend's partner - a bunch of us are spending "Friendmas" together in December. Stuck for a gift idea for him. He is in his 30s, bit alternative style, likes cooking and home brew and wine making (he makes elderflower champagne which is divine!), works doing something to do with rivers, flood prevention, conservation type stuff...... Have no clue!

    Thanks all.

    Dh's birthday tomorrow - 40!

Echo - A big happy birthday wish for DH tomorrow, - they say life begins at 40!

Love the sound of elderflower champagne, - saw it on River Cottage. if he likes cooking, and home make what about a box of stuff for home made jams, labels. cut out circles gingham cloth and some printed recipie sheets for jams. Or a preserves book I just brought one from Book people - £5 and it covers month by month.

Good news with granddad hoodie - he went to the Gp who referred him to a+e. He had wack of xrays - sent him home with a splint and he's got to go back to fracture clinic in a week.

Susan - sorry about the locks are the keys somewhere safe? and typical re car, but bless him having the money ready to get it fixed, - now if only I was 10 yrs younger (ok 20 years younger!!!) you really have one in a million there, he follows his mum,

If he is outdoorsy and likes cooking, maybe a foraging guide? This is a lovely one, but quite expensive (although 10 less than RRP just now) but there are a few cheaper ones.

Hi echo happy birthday to OH

As regards a present... If in doubt.. Night in at the movies hamper I'd say. I usually personalise it for the person... So perhaps some DVDs on cooking, or nature. I have 4 grown ups to buy for and every year that's what they want. When I think they be bored with them and don't do them, they ask where they are . Even got a request for a Disney one this year.

I spend all year watching grabbit board for bargains

Afternoon, just checking in. Nothing else really to report lately except decluttering and gaining Nectar points I joined Adpoints to see if that would help boost the scores - we'll see.

I've picked up my sewing again! It's helping me to relax a bit but I'm not feeling too well.

    Have a lovely evening,

    KB xx

    Hi everyone

Susan, roly poly pudding with cream sounds really yummy.

Echodelta - how much did you want to spend on the ecology pressie? You could make a home brew/cooking hamper.

Hope DH is having a great day.

mum2one, glad that grandad is getting sorted out.

Yesterday I had an extremely long day out, met friends about 2 pm and got home after midnight and I was lugging my 2 heavy Iceland shopping between venues lol. Never intended to stay out that long. Everytime I planned to leave someone else turned up

Today I had 3 heavy bags from Tesco, called in for a tea in the pub halfway as it was snowing and my arms hurt, didn't socialise and left after about 20 mins. Hopefully ex is coming over tonight to do a plumbing job.

I was trying to work out today what on earth did I buy to have so much heavy shopping last few days, think it's because I don't have much in normally and one or more are arriving for the weekend.

Thanks so much for the great ideas! Given me some brilliant places to start thinking and looking. I love the foraging book, I think he would love that but a bit expensive... Lovely book though. Am going to scour the net for a bargain. If not the recipes or hamper would be great too. I really can't thank you enough!

    DH had a great birthday.

We went to soft play (unorthodox for a 40th but he gave dd the choice of outing and so that's where we went). Was nice and good food etc. Blooming good work out too! Saves on gym membership! Then a national trust place for a lovely walk and cake. We are off on holiday on Friday too - sunshine!!!

Take care everyone. Get well soon to all ill and injured xxx
