    Hi all,

Mum2one – love finding unexpected money!! Lol
Meant to ask, do you have any pics you would want to share from the Lapland trip??
I’m having the same problem getting into your album from the party btw!

Got a challenge for anyone who might want to help! I’m looking for a white shrug type cardigan for DD (just turned 3) for when she’s a bridesmaid for her Aunt’s wedding in April. I’ve been keeping an eye out for something suitable but this time of year all the bridesmaid stuff isn’t out yet. I’m hoping stuff will come in to the shops soon, but I like to be organised!! Ideally as MSE as possible, but anything would be good at the moment. She has her dress and accessories – just need the shrug and shoes (which is a whole other issue!). Any ideas?? Where can I look??

That's a great start rufus, thank you. I'm hoping to find quite a plain one, white (not cream) and ideally one that can be done up on the front. There are one or two on there that look ok, but I'm HOPING (perhaps foolishly!) to get one for under £10! lol

Will save this site though - I've never heard of it before - have you used it??

    Thanks both.

Mrs-moneypenny - hadn't thought of knitting. Maybe my Mum would be happy to. I HAVE just found one ont he Debenhams website for £10 with free delivery (and 3% cashback) from Quidco. But if I can save on the cardigan, I could put the money towards shoes..... This is the one: http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_225020801780_-1

I shall have a word with my mum me thinks!!

    Thanks again

  • £10 is a good price, it all depends on what wool you choose as to whether a handknit would be cheaper, look at the patterns on the links and have a wordd with your mum. a shrug shouldnt take much wool and wouldnt take long to knit.

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Hi all, mind if I join in? I've been lurking on the forums for a while and decided it'd be rude not to contribute considering I've benefited so much from reading :jThank you for all the help you've given me so far!

    My Christmas progress so far:

    • Written my spreadsheet list of people out
    • Bought most of my personal cards for 20p each in Cards Galore sale, were all about 99p each. Going to try and get my remaining personal christmas cards this weekend if there are any left in the sales (unlikely though i think) Also got 2 boxes of boxed cards and 3 unopened rolls of wrapping paper left over from 2012 bought in the Clintons sale. And a roll of cellophane.
    • Put a few bits aside from this christmas to regift, bought some bits in boots with advantage card points. Bought 2 sets of wooly socks from M&S down from £5 to £1. Ticked off the list already is my BFs 2 Nans, his Dad (Burtons Sale, scarf £19 down to £5) and his sister (regift slippers because I got 2 pairs for xmas, free Models Own nail polish and Sanctuary Set for £2.50 bought with boots points in the sale). A nice Philosophy set for someone at work, regifted because I got so much bath/shower stuff for xmas.
    • Discovered Swagbucks in December thanks to MSE forums and made £30 Amazon vouchers so far, hoping to hit £200 vouchers in time for christmas shopping. Also collecting clubcard points, nectar points and Quidco cashback. I have a 10p and under saving jar with about £5 in already.
    • Cancelled my webhosting account early and got a £38 refund which I wasn't expecting at all, and unexpected bonus of £50 so they're both going straight into the xmas pot. I'm taking what I've spent already (£18) straight out of this pot, so I'm money neutral so far with £70 cash left, £30 swagbucks, coin jar and all my loyalty cards. Good start for 3 weeks into January. Worked out how much all the stuff I have so far should have cost and it's just over £90! Not that I'd ever have paid full price for some of it.
We're saving for a deposit on our first house this year, so I'm trying to get Christmas as money-neutral as possible without cutting down too much on all the festivities :)
