At least I stayed inside in the warm. Another day at home as going to look after DGD2 as well while her Mum goes to get her partner from the airport. Bless her, she's hardly had any sleep in the last few days. Her ex was supposed to have DGD2 today but he text her at 3.30 this morning to tell her he wasn't well so not having her. So I was drafted in at 7am.
DS has struggled to get up and is going to go to work today even though he is not completely better. But he's worried about not getting paid. His contract runs out on 28th. He so wants a good reference from this job, and to be offered more work into the new year would have been a welcome one.
I still need two people's presents to buy, and a stocking to make. Was making it yesterday when the iron decided to loose its heating element. So a search for the travel iron will be necessary to complete it.
Typical. That's most of my electrical goods given up the ghost lately.
Bit late to ask Santa for one. Wait for the sales then.

Yesterday I managed to find the travel iron and finish the stocking, russelled up the last two presents, and finished all the wrapping. Cooked some bits out of the store cupboard, mince pies, cheese straws, jam tarts and a carrot cake. So felt a bit more festive. Babysat my other granddaughter well, while mum went to get her partner from the aitport.
Then I packed our clothes and we came to BF's. we are here today and then we go to Biggests tomorrow.
my parents have cancelled their trip to the other members of the family in Dorset due to the weather, they were due to be caravaning. so am relieved that they have, as i would have worried about them towing the caravan.

I hope everyone has a great Christmas, and don't get too frazzled. Just incase I don't find the time to update.

    Thanks people. xx
Had a great day, started at Biggest of Mooloo´s, with her partner, his daughter, and mt two granddaughters. The three girls were so excited that Santa had been. ( although DGD1 was a little miffed that Santa had not given her a DS)- beyond my financial limits the moment.
Then we went on to BF's where we shared in charades, and other games. DGD did get the race track that she had wanted so BF.s son was happy to help her build it. I had dinner cooked for me, so a good day.
New mugs, smellies, undies, chocolate, for me.
Wont need to buy any smellies for a few months anyway.
We went for a walk today, but the fields around are flooded. DGD1, has still got a nasty cough dispitr her inhailer, but my ears are now back to normal. Which is a blessing as it was very frustrating being un able to hear people talking to me.
Time to reflect, and to focus on the next year ahead, where frugal living will need to be the key as the income reduces by £160 a week!
Time to get tough with my self and save.

the good things about being here at BFs are the fact that I haven't spent any money since Christmas Eve, except the money sent to DS for food and fuel. He has since had a pay cheque from his job, so with any luck he won't be requiring any money from me for a couple of weeks. Alas I think his work finishes today. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he can find other work soon. He has enjoyed it there. At least it is something to put on his CV. And hopefully get a good reference for the future.
I go home today to take DGD across to her Grandad but will probably be back here later. Tomorrow BF wants to go and visit his Dad. so will get to have a stroll along the water front at Weston Super Mare weather permitting.
I am beginning to feel rather divided at the moment. Wanting to spend time with BF while child free, but also wanting to get home and start on my various self imposed challenges.

Well I am at home. Except it is a tip! Of course emptying the car has added too it.
The milk is the 16th! So that's been thrown. I had to wash up to get a clean cup, ( thank god for milk portions purchased for morning tea in bed).
The bags are unpacked, and DGD's repacked ready to go to her Grandad. Just waiting for him to arrive now.
I think I will have to food shop on the way home next time.
Not sure what DS's plans are, I know he's at work today.
I would like to have a clean and tidy home to come too, but even if I blitz today it will be a mess again before I get back so what's the point?
    It's pretty disheartening.
Tea drunk, time to sort out some clothes for me to go visiting tomorrow and to see the new year in.
