Why would you not use someone who didn't charge much? Would you think that they were not qualified enough? I suppose.
You suppose right, I certainly wouldn't think they were running a profitable business, but just something for someone a bit handy with a needle did occaionally for a bit of pin money
Let's face it, your charges don't even compare with dry cleaning charges.
A good rule of thumb to arrive at a charging policy is one third for running costs, one third for time and one third for profit.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Thanks. Working on it now before I take in any more work.

Yesterday Biggest of Mooloo told me that when I was away she had cause to go to twin1's and that she has seen letters from those loan companies saying twin has defaulted on some payments and owes hundreds of £'s.
I am annoyed but alas I am not surprised at what they are getting upto behind my back, nor am I surprised at the lies that they try to tell to keep me from knowing what's going on in their worlds, heads even!
But I am still disappointed with twin1. I had thought that she was doing fine these days if a lot messy still.
I wish the government would ban these companies as the fees are just ridiculous and are making a bad situation for the vulnerable much worse.
Oh if only I had a magic wand that I could wave to sort my girls out, and DS I suppose.
Biggest also told me twin1 had been missing appointments with the carers. Several appointment letters were there when twin had gone to see her BF. why haven't the carers told me? Why have I been left in the dark?
I am at a loss as to know why I bother sometimes.
Well there is nothing I can do about missed payments as I am not able to pay their debts, nor missed appointments. Especially if carers are not informing me. But I will talk to twin1, for what good it will do and ask her to re engage and to get help with debt councillor about the loan company. But what good it will do? In one ear and out the other and a string of lies, or fantasies, to hood wink me!

    Oh Mooloo, :grouphug:

It's always more work for you, isn't it, m' dear?
    Perhaps:
Letter to social worker asking why she hasn't been checking the carers' file (where they write notes on each visit)?
Letter to carers' HQ asking them to call you when visits fail (doubtless you've asked before).

Do you have any paperwork confirming Twins learning difficulties which render them unable to manage finances? Might be useful [STRIKE]if[/STRIKE] when you end up sorting out the mess as usual.

Is it actually legal for debtshark companies to give loans to such vulnerable people?
I'd be tempted to send Matt Albright an email, or bring the problem to Martin's attention, of course. ;)

I have never seen a carers file at either girls homes?
I will try and get hold of the social worker on Tuesday when I am not dashing out the door to work. And any other twin related calls, follow ups etc or I just feel the pressure too much.
The order I had received for a bag was cancelled when I gave the quote. Which is fair enough as it would have still been at a loss with the cost of fabrics and time. Craft items are difficult to get your time included as well as materials, so am currently doing less craft work then earlier in the year, but I do enjoy making so I will do when I am able and while I am sitting on so much fabric.
At work yesterday my day was split between repairs and computer work. Although my friend who now works there and I were having a good creative banter and brain storming with garments that we think will be great retrended etc.
DS finished all he could do for his sister and then he did his volunteering work at the museum. He seems to be enjoying that. Today he is back working with the blacksmith. More experience. Making a sign for the local scouts.
I am back to the office this morning.
DGD will be going to her grandad after school. Hopefully he will not forget etc. have to go and pack her overnight bag. I was too tired last night.
Got to get my act together as have a customer coming for a pick up at 8.10 this morning.

  • Argh. What next?
Today I was half way to work when suddenly the car over revved and when I tried to get it to drop a gear it died on me. Being an automatic it had to be lifted onto the back of the AA mans can and towed to the garage. A nerve wrecking morning stopped on a roundabout with lorries hurtling towards the car. ( me I was on the verge quick sharpe). Thank you god for the lovely sunshine.
So the car is at a garage. dad gave me a lift home. But no work now, so no work no money! And if AA man is right and the gear box is gone, my little car may have to go to its maker as I think It may not be cost effective. The motorbike DS was going to get may have to wait a bit longer. A car is more important to me to get to work etc.
    wonder what now!

  • The car is still in the garage. They hope to tell me more tomorrow. But they think its electrical rather then the actual gearbox. So that has to be better news. We will see.
Money will be a bit tight as I won't be earning much if I can't get to the recycling company for a few days.
Twin1 is now in trouble with her money. Court summons for non payment of council tax. The changes this April hasn't actually been understood by her, she pays if and when she remembers it seems. She rang me to tell me about it yesterday. I said that there is nothing I can do about it. she will have to go and see the debt councillor at the council like her sister has. That I can't go with her at the moment as I don't have transport. Feel as if I was a bit hard with her, but she cannot grasp that she has to pay these bills before she pays for a train or bus to go away to her BF's. or buys a fish tank or a phone or what ever the next must have is!
DGDis with her Grandad until tea time. So am making the most of my time and relaxing!

Are these actually carers or support workers?
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

Can't help wondering why the Twins' benefits aren't paid straight into a bank a/c, where all essential [but boring] bills are paid by DD? Set up the timings so that DDs go out as soon as money comes in. Or maybe open a second a/c and transfer in whatever cash is available after bills are covered - that would be the only a/c the Twins have a card for.

Won't stop the girls running out of money but would avoid the stress of being taken to court for non-payment of CT, or power meters running out inconveniently.

Tough love is incredibly hard and the whole burden seems to be on you, Mooloo. The Twins' father should be helping; that he has problems too is no excuse.

Good point. Might explain why visits aren't recorded in a carer's file.

As far as am aware they are carers. As it was a care package that was put together with the social workers and Liveability. I will have to check.
Girls used to have DDs set up but as soon as the money goes into the account they are at the hole in the wall withdrawing it all. Tried taking their cards off of them only for them to go in branch and sign for it. And order another one!
Then they get bank charges for going overdrawn even though my Dad went with them to open the bank accounts that they couldn't over drawer or have debit cards. But we keep trying to sort it out. They still have not done the competence tests they were supposed to have done.
