DGD was sick last night. But she seems to be fine so far this morning. We're just having our breakfast. I was going to have an early night but ended up still up until 11.30 as I was watching catchup on the TV.
DGD woke me at 7 but managed to get her to watch a film on the kindle so I could dose at least.
Plan a relaxed morning, luckily I am feeling better today. But due to help Biggest later on.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
DS and I went to help biggest in the afternoon. DGD in tow, of course.
BF brought over my laptop and DGDs bike in the afternoon for me, had a cuppa then had to go back. Biggests BF was back from Brazil (work), and has caught a cold etc on route. So another one where travelling has incapacitated.
DGD is fine and will be off to school this morning. It's pouring here. So wet weather gear needs to be found.
My stomach is still playing me up so need to eat carefully, and take my omepeazole to. Line it again. Damaged over years of pain killers etc.
I am not going into work today but working from home. Council need my accounts etc etc.
have some alterations in as well.
DS slept in and has only just managed to get next door to be ready for work. 25mins late! Not a good start to a job is it. If I hadn't woken before the alarm he may still have been in bed.!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I have had a gift of some Indian food. 200g desiccated coconut, 300g Pakora Mix, 50g Green Cardomoms,100g Cumin Seeds, 100g Ginger Powder, 50g whole cloves, 100g Madras Curry Powder, 1.5kg Semolina, 300g jar Tamarind concentrate, 1kg Red Lentils, 1kg chana Dal, 500g ghee, 200ml Almond Oil, 400g chews a, and 400g Kabuli Channa!
mmm what am I going to do with all this yummy stuff. I haven't tried some of it before and haven't a clue what to do with it yet but experimenting will be fun.
Why have I been gifted all these things you may ask? well it was from the Food Bank People as a thank you for my input and giving them the menu plans based on their average bag of produce. The Indian foods are not part of their normal stock. Which is a lovely thank you if an unusual one.
Today has been full on, with dealing with Councils, tax credits, accounts, and lots of odds and sods tide up. DGD is at her after school club for the first time today.
Also seen my Parents as they are back from France. So also have had some small gifts sent from my brother and sister, and some Cow novelty items, badges, buttons, and a plaque for my kitchen with the cow on of course.
So much for my plan to de clutter! More stuff in then out.
Been to Biggests and hung her curtains up to dry. That was quite a difficult job for me to do with my arm, but I managed it.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Back to work at the recycling centre today. After a catch up with the move, the staff changes (again), it was time to get creating. I didn't find my enthusiasm to start with, but after a while and finding the radio I finally got back in the grove and did the better work! Pictures are on my Blog. Don't know how to put pictures on here from my phone. May put them on my Pinterest next.
DGD has settled back into the After school club easily. She's still getting used to going to school. Obviously I now pay for her school dinners, but decided to keep her getting the meals so she gets a good cooked meal and I don't have to worry about the evening. Except she still managed to demolish a Mr T. Frozen spaghetti bolognaise. And a choccy mousse!
I did a quick food shop, mostly fresh fruit and veg and some meat. So now I am cooking a Chicken Piri Piri, as a reminder of the lovely one we had in Portugal last week.
I went to see a client about a sewing job, arranged last night only to find she's forgotten and gone out! So have to go back tomorrow now.ind you I am quite tired so I am glad I don't have to do it tonight.
Spent a couple of hours on the phone with DGD2s other granny talking about sewing and family. She is also doing alterations and repairs to make ends meet. we have a lot in common. Not just a granddaughter!
DS has gone to work again today. Still not home yet.
The lady I got the job for at my place is doing well. She was doing the market stall today and has an application form for DS for a job. So she's also trying to help DS find another job. Fongers crossed we will get him work that's regular sooner rather then later. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
It has been a busy week. What with school and work etc to fit in. Still getting used to all the changes. My parents are back and it's great to see them. I am here with them at the moment with DGD2. Babysitting for her while her Mum moves the furniture out of her place. DS is working a market stall with the blacksmith. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

Relaxed lazy morning after a very late night last night. dGD had gone to her Mum so that I could go to a fund raiser that Biggest of Mooloo was helping organise for the youth club. Beautiful singer called Nell Keene. A face to watch out for in Musical theatre. Amazing voice.
Then I watched an episode of Vera! Must be mad! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well a mini hiccup has caused me some problems. Twin2's ESA has been reduced yet again and she has only received £67.86 for two weeks money. Not enough for her to live on. Which means an additional strain on mine. Luckily I am not in too bad a shape financially, even though I am just back off of holiday, and I blew £69 in Tesco yesterday on shoes, trainers and underwear for both DGD and myself. always the way if I treat myself to something, a bigger then usual bill or in this case a reduced payment slam dunks me.
Luckily I noticed. Tomorrow I will check up why they have reduced her money again. I know it will be debts for previous over payments that she had many years ago, but they should leave her enough money to live and not take them all out together. Never did believe in crisis loans etc for the twins. Gave them too easily.
Can't panic or my stomach will give me hassles. Just have to tighten my purse strings, chase alteration payments and keep busy. School fees etc due to go out as well this week. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Yesterday morning we were stopped at the gate as we left for school by a lady wanting to know if I was the sewing lady. Well yep I sew. Arranged for her to come around what should have been tonight for fitting etc except she arrived just as I was getting DGD ready for bed. Or was going too. I am grateful for the work but she talked for England and probably Scotland and Wales too! Over an hour later I get to go up to tuck DGD. She'd got herself ready etc and was all fast asleep. No story for her bless her.
So today will be a full day of sewing after the school run etc.
DS has been getting work experience with the blacksmith, and is going back again today. The time to finish his sisters house and garden is running out. They rang about a viewing Thursdsy. Must remember to tell Biggest and get the keys etc.
Paid twin2s rent and council tax. But will need to get her gas. And electric sorted out. But she is still only on the lower rate ESA minus deductions and has never had the 13 week assessment etc. someone needs to be asking the government why? Now is that me or her so called carers who are not coming anymore it seems or the social worker!
Carers no longer help taking twins anywhere or with food shopping etc etc don't see what they are doing for either twin. Both have let their homes go again a d I don't have the time or energy to be cleaning them up. Carer used to come three times a week and stand over them encouraging them etc (not doing it though) but there is no sign of this happening.
Did I tell you that the family from hell is on the move? Alas only to the other end of the town, but their old neighbours are happy. The new neighbours etc not so. They have been given a four bedroom new house in the posh part of town! Rumours are that some people are pulling out of sales up there! And the local community want to know how he gets a brand new house when he's never done an honest days work in his life. Oh dear! I had to smile! The daughter who causes my twins such problems has lost full custody of her little girl. So it will be interesting to see how she is with the twins now the shoe is on the other foot so to speak. She has also done a house swap with someone I used to know. He was left with a terrible mess to deal with so a rally of well wishers invaded with caustic chemicals etc to get him ship shape last weekend. So his beautiful flat will not be like that for long now it's changed hands! And if she ever has a go at my twins again about their chaos I may just remind her about pots and kettles!
Time to get DGD ready for school and wake DS about going to work. My day will hopefully be close to home a d earning some pin money with the alterations. Must sort out my prices as I have not been charging enough, I know I under quoted last night as well. Hate asking for the money! Which is not best business practise is it?!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Technically they are allowed to leave just 50p in payment - which is a complete joke.
You are allowed up to 5 different deductions at a time - some have different priorities over others.
If there is an Overpayment coming off it will be set at £10.80 per week but you can ring Debt Management and get it reduced for 3 months at a time. Crisis loans/budgeting loans can be reduced (they are set at whatever was agreed when the debt was taken out, well of course everyeone agrees to pay it back in the shortest possible time so they get it given to them) if you write nicely but what I found was that some the debts are quite small so by the time you have written and they have dealt with the letter the debt has been paid back...then they send a letter for the next debt and the cycle continues.
I know you are not an appointee but I wonder if you could have your address as a correspondence address so you actually see the letters. I expect she has had the letters and not opened them or not realised the signiicance of it.
I am glad crisis loans don't exist any longer - it is tough on food banks etc but at least people are not running up debt which has to be paid back later. We have found in our area that as people are not given money they are not interested so I have to agree they were given too easily.0 -

The cynical side of me thinks that they delay the assessments so if people pass they don't have to pay out the extra money for all those weeks (legally they should but if no one challenges it they have got away with it)
Who pays for the carers? If it is Social Services then they may not know the carers are not going?
I know you do too much already but could you send an email/make a call to chck what is happening?
I haven't quoted it here regarding the family from hell being on the move - does this mean that the daughter won't be hanging around with the Twins any more because it is too far away and the son with your son?
I can imagine the faces of the new neighbours - I bet they will have them hounded out before too long:rotfl:0
