Oh, found it!! and I LOVE your 'Can't be a**ed!'.......it's one of my favourite sayings! When I was teaching (I'm a SAHM on a 'career break'...) the head of English was always telling me off for saying that! :rotfl::rotfl:

Am off for a nosey round your blog.....while watching Notting Hill, which I really shouldn't stay up and watch because 1. I need an early night and 2. I have it on dvd and can watch it anytime!!!

Lol apologies if u get soo bored u fall asleep! I use it to post pics of bento style lunches mostly haha. I've never used it as I intended; diary/journal. I suffer from depression, hence the happy sad name, and writing about my days seems to help. I binned my teenage once, which I had intended to keep forever, but I read them a while back and i sound like one seriously strange person. I had receipts taped in, pressed flowers, in depth detail of stupid senseless fights that I'd had with family, friends and the then boyfriend, that must have ment a lot to me at the time. I kept all my photo's and anything else that still held relevance.

Tonight I went to Mr T's to see if this book has been reduced. Nope. It was very quiet,so I took some time to actually have a good look at it, then I thought, I'm going to forget lots of this by the time I get home, so i... erm... took pictures of what I like, and what I don't like. I don't think I would actually use it as a diary after the novelty wears off. I am loving what rising from the ashes has done with a ringbinder...
I am currently debating on making my own household diary, or try a few things to add onto every year.

I don't know if I am allowed to post the pics, seeing as i don't own a copy, but I may post them tomorrow.

  • Decided to go with separate menu book after all. Just been using it and it's helpful to have it in it's own place. I prop it open on a cookbook stand on the current week. Other book still in use keeping receipts and keeping track of planned and actual grocery budget and other expenses :)

found a project folder, so have put one copy of any print outs i have done and they will be the ones i can go and foto copy when i need more.
emptied out an old folder,a nd have put in a few of the print outs i have.
This weekend i intend to spend a little time sorting what i have out, getting all my important documents together and storing in this folder.
Im even thinking of getting the birth certificates, passports (or copies of them), drivers licence etc and keeping them in this too. then if anything was ever to happen -fire/flood etc, i have them all in one place and hopefully within reach to take with me.

  • I'm a long time lurker but have a secret obsession with stationery and I just love this thread so have come out of hiding lol.

A friend of mine has recently moved and is so disorganised it is unbelievable (she is only young) with two young children, so I have been out today and bought a folder and some dividers and I am using some of the links that you have put on here to make her a lovely household folder where she can store everything.

I am then going to give it to her as her moving in present. I think if I can make it nice enough then this will be a really useful gift.

Oh and I just had to buy a label machine yesterday :o found one on e-bay for £9.99 with a 3 year guarantee woo hoo.

  • I love this thread, I also love stationary, and I love budgeting, trying to be frugal, love making lists, and ultimately trying to get more control over our money. my DH thinks I'm so sad and I can't understand why he doesn't have the same enthusiasm lol.

I've always used a big book for writing all finance stuff in but never thought to use a page to view diary. lots of good ideas on here. I need something that can go in handbag but also for kitchen top? I also need to keep it up this year as I usually am really good at budgeting for a few weeks but then it goes pear. hopefully all these tips will keep me motivated :)
