    Ninth Anniversary Combo Breaker
Simplified for this year - free diary from a magazine in December - has big enough spaces for quick updates what what is happening so i can take with me and be able to agree/pencil in things when out and about. have used the 1st few pages to have measurements for the house like window sizes, rooms etc (im in my head planning new bathroom/kitchen/living room over next 2 years so if i see things in the ales i have measurements to see if it is feasible for my place) at the back, last few pages for dd/so/big one off payments i.e insurances/renewals etc. then at a glance i can see what is happening throughout the year
In the house, we have a big calander which has more space for things like tasks etc. this seems to be the best way i work and works for son and i.
Although i have decided to create a 'home command centre' american style - see pinterest. think a wee trip to ikea may be on the cards soon. and a lot of crafting to make it pretty :)

I've played with different options this autumn in my never-ending quest for the 'perfect' diary system!!! I really want to avoid duplicating information!!!

For this year I have returned to an Organised Mum life book, and have adapted two filing/dividers from a pukka pad....one at the front for coupons/vouchers and one in the monthly planning & budget pages for receipts. My address book tucks in the back pocket, it also holds my stickers. I have my pens - one pink, one purple - clipped into the ringbinder/spine as it's quite big. I don't plan to take it out of the house but it's not so big that I couldn't take it in a bag if I needed it.

I have a big monthly calendar on the kitchen wall (also Organised Mum). Then, on the fridge door I have the (yes, spot the theme!) Organised Mum menu plan/shopping list.

This system I think is the one for me. I have a calendar for everyone to see, meals and shopping list on the fridge, then my diary has everything else......diary, vouchers, budget info, xmas & birthday planning, summer holiday planning, car info, useful numbers, notes and address book.

So far so good....... it's the 6th of January already and I haven't been tempted by another diary yet!!!
  • I have used the organised mum dairy for the last few years too and this year. Found the calendar wasnt used so use a cheapy now. Have bought several cheapy notebooks/diary to use too as i found my christmas lists took too much room in the OM book.
So using one notebook for monthly budgets/christmas lists and a dairy for daily stuff. I prefer having more space to write and can be neater and understand it a bit more! Love notebooks!!
