Actually, if you zoom into the edge of this zip folder you can see how they clip onto the rings.

Someone described a household diary as a chance to "dump your brain" - I love it!!

I'm at last working out what I need on a day to day basis and I've adopted a few ideas from this thread.

    Weekly planner
After several attempts I discovered I need a daily heading then to write my to do list under each day although I'm sure it will need revising again but it's all together now rather than on lots of cards.

The shopping/to do in different places.
One person said they lived in the middle of 4 different towns so had a list for each place, someone else used post it notes. I now have a page in my file for post it notes. This is a huge 'dumping brain' for me as these things were on my rolling to do/buy lists which I rewrote each day. I can take the note with me, discard it when I've finished leaving all the others intact and don't need to rewrite each day. In fact I haven't looked at that page for 3/4 days. I know it's there and can add to it and if I go to a different town/shop I can take a look to see if anything is relevant :D

    Menu.
I wrote a menu then realised I normally choose meals the day before based on what everyone is doing/ who's eating and what fresh veg we have in. Now I write my shopping list to make sure I have 10 or so (main) meals in then allocate one to each day but stay flexible. I've also incorporated the menu into my weekly planner rather than having another piece of card lying around.

It's much better for me having these things in one place. Next are paper copies of my birthday and present box spreadsheets which I'll complete in pencil so I can update.
  • EEEEEEKKKKK I have one tab spare in my folder  but there's at least 20 things I'd like to use it for :rotfl:

I've now found A5 monthly calendar sheets (so Tab1 is "months") and a fab A5 updated version of my weekly planner - which incl a meal plan & shopping list (Tab 2 is "weeks") and last night I created my own A5 spending log (Tab 3 is "spending") .... Tab 5 is "complete" (to store completed sheets in so I can refer back to them ... which leaves Tab 4 free ..... decisions, decisions!

  • morning rising, do you use the soa and or snowball calculator? when i did i had them printed off and in my file so i could refer to it and make notes in pencil on until i needed to do a new one. Or how about a inventory section, what toiletries, cleaning supplies you have, any presents you have bought, somewhere you can keep track of what you have, might help when making up your shopping list, saves you going to look in the cupboard.

Whatever you choose i'm sure you'll have fun making a printable for it. quick question, have you got a5 paper or are you printing on a4 and cutting?

Thanks Betty you've actually made me remember something vital that several people were talking about earlier in the thread - room measurements, sizes of clothes/shoes for family members etc so they're to hand if you stumble across a bargain! :T

I'm printing on A4 and cutting ..... thinking that when I need to do the next batch, I may have to take them into work as I spied a guillotene (sp?) in a corner of the office the other day!:)

Glad youve found something for your last tab,
theres a paper trimmer in Wilko's and it actually does 4 things, straight cut, wavy cut, perforates and creases, cant remember how much but i think about £25, its a lot but i think for stationary freaks like us things that will be used a lot are worth it.

    i now have an official stationary wish list and it consists of;

    an Arc set up
    Arc punch
    Labelling machine
    Guillotine
    bureau

may have to set up a stationary savings pot lol

Has anyone made their own printables? What program do you use? I've used Excel for my weekly planner but would like a more sophisticated look.
