Pesto! Or a sauce and then freeze. Basil leaves actually freeze well for later use in sauces and such like, but not for use as fresh leaves. I like to bulk buy reduced basil in the supermarket and make pesto at home. It keeps well in the fridge for a few weeks. You can pretty much put basil in anything, a chilli, a sauce, a pie, baked/stuffed/roast chicken, etc.0 -

Sorry to just jump in, but have found a website which has helped me to avoid throwing things away, not sure if anyone on here has already mentioned it but just in case it helps, it is supercook (google it) you just type in ingredients you have and it comes up with recipes.
Have made two meals this week from what I would have previously considered bare cupboards.0 -

Just made soup to use up a pile of cooked green beans and broccoli from Easter lunch. I chopped an onion and cooked in a little water with a stock cube. To this I added the green beans, broccoli and milk with plenty of seasoning. Whizzed it all up and I've got my lunch for the next few days. No waste, yippeGrocery Challenge - Sept £205.56/£350.000
