  • I've just made a pasta sauce from a box of going soft cherry tomatoes. I had half an onion to bung in too that had been hanging around for a while, added a small bit of chorizo that needed using up, added some oregano and tossed in oil. Oh and a couple of garlic cloves, and slow roasted, while the pork is in the oven. Whizzed up and mixed with some pasta. Nice lunch for hubby tomoro.

I was first introduced to veg peeling soup by an Australian friend he also does veg peeling crisps whilst he's got the oven on.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)
  • I've had a good mooch through the fridge and made a menu plan to use up everything - I have put enough dishes together to see us through the next fortnight with a very small shopping list which I will obtain on Friday :D

Tonight we are having meatballs with polenta and a tomato & chilli sauce using up some sausage meat and bacon that I had left in the fridge - tomorrow is gammon, new potatoes and peas, Friday is fennel, orange, grapefruit and avocado salad with salmon and leaves -Saturday will be a curry that I have in the freezer and I have some greens and swede in the fridge which will be used on Sunday with a shepherds pie :D

After that, most of the food is already in the freezer but I will make something on Monday from whatever is left in the fridge! ;)
