yeah, noticed LVH looks a little off strip, but they got that tram thing working every 10 mins, so thought that would be kinda cool ?! :):)

Think that's the monorail? If so, have you considered price of tickets in your overall calculations?

    http://www.lvmonorail.com/

Though it was posted here not long ago that tix4tonight were offering a 1/2 price 3-day pass.

I agree with photome though, I wouldn't pick to stay there.

And I understand that you sent screenshots too...I'm obviously not explaining myself very well. :) I'm sure it will all work out one way or the other.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • photome - I've just booked the Flamingo after much faffing around considering more luxurious places (my inner MSE-er won the day - I'm paying £56 for 2 nts. inc. of tax). It looks fab - basically pink and flamingo-ey - just what I want on a Vegas holiday.

What's the goss on the pool?!?! Will I have to Avert My Eyes?!

Just another update also, RE: MyVegas on FaceBook..

Doing well, but does become harder to win chips now and less winnings for me! grrrrrrr !! :):)
Still, by the time we go, should be able to get a few rewards :)

great price for 2 nights, I am guessing that is for a FAB room with a pool view, I would try the $20 trick and ask for a GO room, they can only say no

Since they made the pool adult only it has become a party pool for young people who drink a lot and do all things associated with that, and going on reports the pool isnt cleaned very well,it is also very very busy and unless you get there early and queue it is very hard to get a lounger.
Dont let that put you off staying there though, there is another pool which is small and family friendly

Thats the link i gave them, no photoshopping there ! :D:D
I think it boils down to the same thing, its easy to say you can do the best rate, but when you get a real competitive price, you back track (or not so in Aria's case!)
    LowCostUsa.co.uk do similar rates..........

Not fussed now anyway, quite happy to cancel to both the Excal/Lux and look at doing LVH and Flamingo :)
The pool looks pretty good and big at Flamingo, so that could be a good thing! and the rooms look good too, i see that TravelRepublic are doing a B&B rate, very tempting that is!!! Only thing i worry about is my waist line expanding every morning with that option ! :D:D:D haha !

Although, in my budget, i do have the option for 5 nights at Flamingo or 5 nights at the MGM.......... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, MGM does have the appeal, and looks like they got nice big pools too ?! what to do!

Dont think the b+b is with the buffet, sure i read somewhere that you get $9 credit at starbucks which is a coffee and a pastry nowadays, not even sure if it's for two ie $18 per day
  • Cheers photome - will try the $20 trick - never done this before but I must give it a go some time - thought the high white headboards in the Go! rooms look a tad scary.

Thanks for the info re: the pools. We are only there 2 nights so may not even make it down, what with jetlag.

The main pool is now adults only, (party central, but not "european" like the Go pool used to be) used to be the family pool but they have swaped it around. The smaller "Go" pool is the kids pool now. Be aware that they do not allow you to take any liquids in, not even bottles of water, and last year you were not allowed to buy any food from the casino and take it in to eat
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Definitely keep playing. I'm going in March and just got off the phone to book tickets to Zarkana. 8 rows back, face value of tickets is $150 dollars and I've also got $150 to redeem at the Steakhouse in Circus Circus so about £300 worth of stuff for free. Remember after 1st March you can only use 3 things in 30 days so I'm currently deciding what to use my remaining rewards coins on as I've got about 28k left. I've been playing daily since about October.

Is there a specific game or limit you play to get that many reward points so quick?
  • The main thing for me has just been to play regularly and have as many friends as possible. Although I think it's been easier for people who started playing the game earlier on in its development as they seem to change the rules quite often to make it more difficult to get points.

I'm a member of the group MyVegas Friends - there's loads of info on there and people are always happy to answer questions.
