  • Does anyone know if restaurant.com ever have Strip Burger vouchers for more than $25? There will be four of us on our next trip (all adults) so we'd ideally like a $100 so we can indulge in some cocktails along with our burgers. There are $25 on at the moment - its the first time I've seen anything higher than a $10 in a few months of looking

I have been looking since September and only ever $10 & $25, and they are only restocked on the first of the month, that's why you have seen them today ;)

May be worth keeping an eye on the El Segundo Sol certificates to see what they have...from what I understand unless something has changed, you can order from the Stripburger menu (or the El Segundo Sol menu has Stripburger options on it)...they list a a $50 voucher but out of stock at the moment.

  • I'm sure most of the regulars have seen it before, but PBS America (Sky channel 166) is again showing "Las Vegas - an unconventional history" all weekend.

It's in 2 parts, both about 90mins long.

Really interesting history of Las Vegas... now I've got a bigger Sky+ box, going to record it and leave it on there to dip into now and again :)
  • Thanks to photome (post 471) I have booked the seats on our Virgin flights. I had no idea they could be booked so far in advance!
There were upper deck seats free on the return flight so I booked them - are there any drawbacks to the upper deck? (It's a 747-400, and we are flying economy.)

I can check-in online, so only really the bag drop i would need to do in Amsterdam with US Airways....
We have travelled via Amsterdam from MAN, and you do not do the bag drop at Amsterdam, you do it at PHL. If your flights aren't on the same booking, you will have to collect and drop luggage at Amsterdam and PHL. Our flights were linked, so we didn't need to do the collect/drop at Amsterdam.
  • Can anyone recommend a website to book vegas excursions online before we go? We are interested n doing a night helicopter tour

    Thanks

we do it most trips...it's fine - there may be some down on their luck people around but we have never had any issues...I guess it depends on how comfortable you are in those sort of situations...but you're basically right near at a busy intersection then walking along Flamingo which is obviously a busy cross raod...is not really like it's in the middle of nowhere.

Emailed both Luxor and Excal to say i will cancel my bookings tomorrow unless they respond to the 'Best rate guarantee' email i sent them with regards to my bookings...

Got this response which really shows they are incompetent! (and to note, screenshots and URL's i sent them were in Dollars with a £ conversion on the quickrooms website, even Lowcostusa.co.uk do similar rates...)

    """
We received your Best Rate GuaranteeClaim however have not been able to validate your claim and am waiting forresponse from our corporate offices as 3rd party quote is not from a valid agency and is inEUROS, not dollars and exchange rates need to be considered. Since thishas never happened in the two years that I have been handling the Best RateProgram, I have had to reach out to those better versed in the program forverification.

I apologize for the delay and willget back to you as soon as I have an answer.
