your right about the 60 mins for US Airways....
I can check-in online, so only really the bag drop i would need to do in Amsterdam with US Airways....
I've checked everyday the arrival flight time of the plane i will use from bristol to AMS, and so far, its arrived as early as 8:15 upto 8:45 latest....
But i guess the arrival time is when the wheels touch the ground, not when the plane parks!!!
I didnt realise AMS is the 4th largest airport in the world, luckily it has only 1 terminal!
It is risky i guess, in essence, having only 1hr (or 1hr 20 mins) from landing, collecting at getting to the bag drop! I do book some daft things!
Oh yes forgot about online check in, that makes things easier , still rather you than me0 -

If only it was a short haul flight away...
i feel your blues!
i've spent this afternoon pricing up potential tips for later in the year! looking to use our VA miles and getting VA flights for about £420-480pp (depending on what our balance is and when the next Reward Seat sale is) - limited to mid/late August with the flight availability, which isn't too bad though would have preferred September.
does anyone know the cycles of the reward seat sales (current one is 22 Jan - 5 Feb), or when the next general flight sale usually is?0 -

I am of two minds about this...I think if it was a short hop we would go more often for shorter periods...and one of the things we like about Vegas is going for 8 or 9 nights and feeling a bit relaxed about how much we want to do and the time to do it...when we've only visited for 3 nights (at the end of a trip elsewhere in the US) we have felt like we had to rush about to do all the 'must do' things...so it might be a bit of a trade off.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I said on the other thread about this that if you could manage to travel with hand luggage only it would increase your chances of making this work...check the limits - some US airlines are pretty generous.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
10kg hand luggage
It will work, i got faith !!
Only thing not going to plan at the mo is the direct booking with the hotels, in 2hours time, it will have been 72 hours since i submitted my evidence for the Best Rate Guarantee....
What to do if they dont bother to respond ? i can cancel and book with QuickRooms, but that will cost 10% more !
dam hotels!0 -

Planning a night out in ellis island but read the taxi companies won't pick up from there - is that true?0

Well,
72 hours has gone, just rang the Luxor, on hold for 10 mins.....
Lady came back and said just email the promotions department again ?
!!!!!! ?
Think this is gonna be 1 of those moments where i make a trip advisor report about both hotels giving the worst rating before i even go stating there best rate promotion is a crock of s**t!
Only to have the hotel follow up that report saying "email us on the guest relations email addy that we never respond to, etc etc"
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!!! Boils my p**s when hotels make claims like this, yet give you no option to make them stick to there advert!
May as well email MGM resorts management and see if i can kick up a fussgot nothing to lose, if they dont honor there deal, am cancelling with them anyway!

It's not that they won't pick up from EI, it's just that there is no taxi rank there.
We were lucky one night that there was a taxi dropping off as we came out intending to walk so we grabbed it.
I'm sure the staff would call you a cab if you asked.0 -

What Luci said...once we had dinner at the BBQ and had Le Reve tickets later that night so went to the hotel side and reception called a taxi...it took FOREVER. In the end, if I remember correctly we got lucky like Luci and hopped in a taxi dropping someone off...it was a bit hit and miss if we would make it in time but in the end was OK...I have no idea if the taxi that was called for us ever turned up.
Since you cannot hail taxis on the street in Vegas it can be a bit of a pain...worst case, I would think you could wander over to the Westin or something from which you might have better luck with them getting a taxi for you.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
