Can anyone recommend a nice hotel that has a swimming pool and an onsite casino that is not on the strip.

Previously we have stayed at the Tropicana and the MGM but am looking for somewhere that's not directly on the strip but within a mile or so taxi ride from the strip as OH is disabled now so think we prob wont do as much walking this time.

Try the South Point, it is 5 miles South of the strip, I am typing this while watching a Rodeo in their arena.
I have grown tired of the strip with all the construction work and the City Centre road block.
The Trop now has loud music playing in the pool area that booms into some of the rooms.

Not sure what sort of star rating/quality you are after. In increasing order of quality (my thoughts/opinion, and I struggle to place them), offstrip places worth considering are :-

    Gold Coast
    Tuscany
    Orleans
    Palms
    Rio
    Westin

I would suggest Platinum, but doesn't meet your criteria due to no casino.

I'm sure some others can make some suggestions.

Orleans .......has a good casino, nice pool , good food options, large rooms ......but no washing machines. Everything is in one building so easy to get around. Cocktail waitresses are really good.

Palms attracts a young clubbing crowd at night but is nice in the daytime

Rio has huge rooms and is nice enough but for me just misses on atmosphere.

Gold Coast has nice rooms but casino isn't as big as Orleans not as many food choices either.

Tuscany I've not tried but sounds good ..suites would give you more room and nice landscaping and pool.

I'd be short listing Orleans and Tuscany Suites.

South Point is good for golf eras but if you're planning on cabs rather than hiring a car is too far .

Probably at the Crown and Anchor. It might tell you on their website, or perhaps you could send them an email or facebook message (assuming they have a facebook page).

Thanks Lesley, looking in to that now!

Currently looking for places to eat and overwhelmed would be an understatement.

Can anyone tell me where I am likely to be able to watch Man Utd v Arsenal on Sunday 10th Nov in Vegas?

The rockhouse near the Venetian has about 50 tv screens for such a small venue, so i'm sure you could get it shown on one of the screens.

Sportsbook at MGM or other large Sportsbooks show UK football.....especially during the hours that there's no US sport on TV.

Watched Villa/Arsenal over Xmas four or five years ago at MGM.

    myVegas - $5 chip purchase........

That has gone now, so you can only claim 3 rewards in 3 days...
If you want 4 rewards, its done on merit, and be anything from:
regular chip purchase (still pushing over $50 total)
or: maybe..... $50 purchase + another $5 or $9 purchase...

You can purchase as many as u want, but it will only allow 3 to be used....

    just to note
the NYNY coaster, that costs $14 each to go on, but there are plenty of 2 for 1 deals on that (could send u a link on here to print off), comes down to costing around £4.50 each ($7 each)......

work out which is best for your money... (minus1 bar has better value over the coaster ticket)

Ive got to cash mine in soon, we go on Saturday - I need 5k loyalty points to get a free weekend night in the MGM.

Need to find out if I can edit my existing booking with them if I get enough points before we go. Stressing me out lol

338 days til we go! Ages away!

With regards to light packing, if I go for a week then I generally plan 7 day time outfits, 7 night time outfits - with items that can mix and match. Taking the bare minimum works for me I find, then I can shop and not worry about having to pay excess for my luggage.

And I don't plan to take heels to Vegas this time, I've learned my lesson on that one - if it hurt my feet in my 20s in Vegas, then there's no way I can cope with heels in my 30s!
