Im a first time visitor to Vegas myself, but we're starting out in LA, then LV and then SD before returning to LA for the flight home. From what I can gather the two outlet malls in Vegas are apparently pretty good...

outlet malls are great, North & South...
South is better as it has a 'Buffalo Wild Wings' bar there, awesome chicken wings!!!!!!!
Google: Premium outlet malls, signup for free to the vegas ones, print coupon vouchers, take to outlet place, get a book, go shopping....

    Good examples: D&C store = 50% off 1 D&C item
Same for Quicksilver, as well as the normal 10 & 20% off other shops....
    Happy days :D

OMG now thats organised! My GF wants to shop and i want some new jeans etc to wear while im out there, anywhere you can reccomend for all round cheap shopping? Staying in the Pairs if that helps! We would look to shop on the Sunday so we have new clothes to wear while out and about in vegas etc

as Stuie says North or South malls are great - Town Square can also offer some good deals.

I think I prefer North for the shops/experience but South seems to have the better food court? Both have an almost identical range of shops, but there are a few unique ones to each.

South is more of a traditional mall, all under one roof (with a few satellite buildings). North is an open air affair, a bit like the outdoor bit at Westfield at Stratford if you've been. You are outside a lot of the time, but there's a lot of shade and they have spraying mist things outside too :)

For those going to Vegas, can I recommend this:

Whether you go for food or not, or even just a beer.......
Goto "SLICE OF VEGAS", which is in the shops between Mandalay Bay & Luxor....
If ordering a beer, just buy some chicken wings from the bar....
Then ask for a pot of sauce, called "Atomic" :D:D
Then, let chicken wing soak for 2 mins, and then take big bite :D:D

You can fill everyone in with your trip report after ! ;);) (oh how that brings back memories, and a tear to my eye! :D:D )

I've got my suitcase packed - a case, a couple of old bedsheets (to at least make it weight something) and a toothbrush - oh and that's in the smaller case, inside the bigger case.

I've already got a stack of stuff delivered and waiting at my first hotel - I go to shop and I don't intend disappointing myself with a lack of shopping effort :D

Curious why you are taking the old bedsheets?

Sorry I haven't been on with my TR, me and DH have both been chock-a-block with cold, felt really rough....always seem to get something when we come back. Thought I'd escaped it, because DH got it a couple of days before me, but oh no!

Has anyone seen this? http://www.8newsnow.com/story/23743794/breaking-news-police-activity-near-ballys-hotel-and-casino Scary stuff.
  • Hope those who are there now are enjoying themselves, and same to those who are on their way soon. We've just come back and I wish we were going again!
