Yeah - take out a mortgage.

Our Xmas trips we always leave Vegas by 28th December due to the massive hike in prices that goes on over New Year. Xmas there is dirt cheap.

Plan ahead, prebuy tickets if you want to be in a club or eat dinner anywhere nice, try and stay close to where you'll be celebrating as odds are you'll be walking back, book your hotel early ...if it seems expensive now- rates will only go up, be prepared for crowds like you'd never believe.....and if you want to drink -take lots of money.

NYE in Vegas is not for the spontaneous ;)

Just an update for my booking with PARIS and there Best Rate deal.....

Booked direct on there website, rate $661
Used quickrooms (shows in $) as a best rate deal, worked out to be $191 for the 3 nights, so a biiiiiig difference!
    That was £119..
Also, Travelrepublic had same room for £124 and a few others had the room for £130....

Anyway, had the reply from BRG dept for Paris last night.....
    They refused the claim stating:
The rate i used to do the price match is "NOT OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC" !
    HAHA!! !!!!!!!

So called hotel and cancelled booking straight away, told the lady why cancelling, she didnt care to be honest, and advised i book with a UK broker as there rates are better!
LOL! what a joke of a hotel, claim to do the best rates, yet on mulitple brokers, they wont match! haha!

guess they should rename the Best Rate Guarantee to:
Best Rate guaranteed against US sites only..
Oh well, i guess its still a good deal £119 for 3 nights in May.... do i book with broker, or look for another hotel. hmmmmmmmmm ! :D

and Photome, i know feel your pain with the flying, as ours was a 24hr jobby when we flew in May (BRS to AMS, to philly to vegas!) although my doing! :D:D :rotfl:

Like what? We have been 3 times over NYE and vowed never again.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

If I can get Vdara for £1030 and Bellagio for £1340

Next September - what, in the opinion of folks on here, should I book.

Never been to Vegas before, going for a week Glasgow, Gatwick, Vegas flights. Thanks for any replies

Out of curiosity, why are those 2 your options? Is that what you have narrowed it down to? I'm not in a position to give an opinion because I only go for the first time in 3 weeks.

I got it down to Cosmo or Aria in the end.

I'm also keen to go in September next year, also from Glasgow. I take it these are BA flights via Gatwick? How many nights was this for? I think the September flights are only just appearing. I'm likely to come back around the 15th, so I was quite restricted with no US Airways flights showing up yet. I was also hoping that the Norwegain deal might knock the prices down a bit!!

Vdara would seem like the better deal, but a lot of people also enjoy the experience of staying at one of the most famous hotels in Vegas - The Bellagio. I''ve stayed there once, only for a couple of nights and it was nice.

I agree, why have you narrowed it down to those two? Maybe you have already decided these are the only places you want to stay, but just wondering if we can recommend anywhere else.
