I think if I had my heart set on Love or Rock of Ages I would probably look to book in advance using one of the deals I could find online (various links on the 1st page here)...not sure that either would necessarily be available at Tix4Tonight - though I haven't looked for Love specifically, Rock of Ages is new so not sure it will be cropping up there yet - possibly I suppose...there is a deal on at the moment listed on Travelzoo but only until 31st March...may be worth checking back occasionally to see if it's extended?

All depends on how much you want to see something and how much time you want to devote to seeking out deals and queuing when you're there.

For us if there is something we really want to see, unless we know it's pretty much always available at Tix4Tonight and we won't have to get there first thing to have a shot at the shows with limited availability we book in advance...we kind of feel that we're not in Vegas long enough to spend time seeking out tickets when we are there...there's so much else we want to do. :) I think if we were there for 2 weeks at a time then we might look at it differently but a week or so, just so much we want to fit in.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • Thanks guys! I think I'm tempting to book in advance with a deal if we can find one as I realise these are popular shows. Will have a look on Travelzoo, I've not been on there yet.

I'm just excited to see the place, still can't grasp how huge it all is! Hoping to go to the Grand Canyon as well so starting to look at options.

    Thanks again for the advice.

I agree with ferf. It can be a hassle and take a lot of time to queue up at Tix4Tonight. The one that was at Bill's was awful.

However there are very few shows you need to pay full price for, O probably being the only one and there are even offers for that occasionally.

Travelzoo.com, not co.uk, is your best bet and they normally load the new offers on a Wednesday. The other is https://www.smartervegas.com

There has been a Summer of Cirque offer for the past couple of years so may happen again.

    Hi all,

after much procrastination due mainly to uncertainty over dates for a work trip to Africa we've finally booked for the end of march for the wife's 40th.

I have a question on the Marriott Autograph best rate guarantee which I hope is pretty straightforward and hasn't been covered previously (I couldn't find it if it has) - will they use the different currency as an excuse to knock the claim back?

For our dates I can get Cosmo at just under £700 on lowcostusa but on the Marriott website it is more like $1350

I start at the Marriott UK £ currency site but when you select the Cosmo it takes you to the $ prices no matter what I do.

They've previously pricematched an Alpharooms '£' rate for me... (not on the Cosmo, but the same principle should apply). If you look at the Terms and Conditions, I'm sure it mentions the conversion rate they use somewhere :)

edit: Here you go - http://www.marriott.com/hotel-prices/faqs.mi
Customer Care will evaluate claims in the currency of the Marriott reservation. To do so, Marriott will use the currency converter provided on Marriott.com. Rate discrepancies solely attributable to fluctuations and/or differences in currency exchange rates are excluded from the guarantee.

Thanks for that. I did read the t's and c's last night but clearly not well enough - it was late by then and I was very excited!

Let the planning commence once more - 5th visit to Vegas for me, 3rd for my wife.

i hope WetnWild is open as planned on Memorial wkend (24th May), as i plan on going there on 29th or 30th !!!
Not sure if Cowabunga will open same time ? be nice if it does!!!

Any readers stayed at the Excalibur within the last 2 years ??
Curious as to the rooms, am hearing that Tower 2 is the refurbed building, and Tower 1 is the old worn out looking rooms in the building ???
I booked via expedia, so room description states "2 queen beds, 42" plasma telly, etc etc"....
Have seen on tripadvisor some photos of people rooms, but they have oldskool CRT tellys....
Makes me think those pictures relate to a room in Tower 1 ???
tower 2 is the newer one we booked most basic room and used $30 trick to get us a larger high floor strip view.

I just got them to honour a cheaper rate against netflights. I struggled to find the currency converter at first but re-read the terms and conditions too :D
  • Does anyone know if it's possible to check the details of a room booking online for MGM Grand? I booked a couple of rooms a couple of months back, but the confirmation emails don't give details of room type and price etc., they only give me the confirmation number!!

Thanks NVH for reply. We are staying Thurs-Mon so appreciate its the weekend but still hoping for an upgrade with it bring honeymoon & also husband to be's birthday whilst we're there.

Also looking to go to a show, possibly Love or Rock Of Ages. Any tips on buying tickets? Is it better in advance or take a chance & wait?

Love from $50...there's not a bad seat in the theatre and we think it's better to be farther back that front row...first time we saw it was front row and waaaaay too close...2nd time we were mid-way back and it was perfect.
