Has anyone here seen Purple Reign the Prince tribute act? I'm a big Prince fan, and apparently, the show is leaving Hooters and coming to PH. By all accounts, he's meant to be pretty good!
It got me thinking too, about shows that I wish were still in Vegas, that if they were still on we would go and see again, anyone remember EFX? We loved that show!0 -
we saw EFX I think on our 2nd trip...i was a HUGE Rick Springfield fan as a little girl (I was going to grow up and marry him, you see)...so it had to be done.
Got into a good-natured argument with my husband about the woman pulled out of the audience - he said plant, I said no way..on the way out another couple having the same argument (same sides, man - plant, woman - no)...so I went to the box office and asked and the woman looked at me with a bit of pity and confirmed that yes, the men were correct.
It's been 10 years and my husband still uses that as an example of my gullibility.
I still have the t-shirt.
I have heard nothing but excellent things about Purple Reign and regret that we never went to see the act when it was free somewhere years ago (I cannot remember where exactly)...not enough of a Prince fan to pay for it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
What are the best shows on in October, in your opinion? I'd like to go to one but not sure I'd like the Cirque de Soliel and I'm not a massive Micheal Jackson fan...0

As the Prince show is now in our hotel, it might go on the shows to see list! I'm not sure if the husband likes Prince or not? I do know that some people used to think he looked like him when he was skinny and had long black hair! :rotfl:
I didn't have a clue who Rick Springfield was (I knew Jessie's Girl but didn't realise it was him who sung it), and the OH said lets go see it, so I thought, yeah, why not give it a try, and that after that I went mad on Rick Springfield and bought all his albums! :rotfl:
I also didn't realise it was a plant either, althought the OH did. The woman who played her is called Maggie (can't remember her last name) and she released an album, it's actually really good too!
I also still have a tshirt!0 -

It depends what sort of things you are into really? I'm not a big CdS fan either, we saw Ka last time we were there, and while it was stunning and we enjoyed it, I don't think we'd go again.
Shows we want to see this time are:
Rock of Ages
Rocktails & Cocktails (Meatloaf)
Penn & Teller
Tournament of Kings
Also maybe Purple Reign now too.0 -

I saw EFX when Michael Crawford was in it, saw it again when David Cassidy was in0 -

I'd forgot they did it too, and Tommy Steele I think too? I'd have loved to see Michael Crawford in it!0 -
I think we've narrowed our choice of hotels down to two: the Aria and the Vdara. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the relative merits of these...
Have stayed in both and really like them.
Last couple of times it was best value to stay in Vdara, for the rate the room was bigger, the view better, the dining credit was more $$$.
We spent the credit at Cafe Vettro in Aria, parked in Aria, and spent most time in Aria, only difference we had the room at Vdara.
If the best deal next time is Aria, we will stay there, but I'm feeling because Vdara depends on filling rooms, they will offer the best value again.0 -

Thanks, that's really useful advice. Room rate at Vdara is ever so slightly cheaper at the moment, but it certainly feels like we'd be happy with either.0
