    Hi Everyone,

We are going on honeymoon to California and finishing off with 5 nights in Vegas. I haven't been since I was 11 so a lot has changed since then no doubt. We go on the 9th September. We are staying in the Venetian.

Can anyone help with restaurants? We would like to go to one really really nice restaurant but can't decide where. We would also like to try one buffet and the rest not too bothered on but suggestions would help. Not anything particular but not Indian and nothing spicy?

The Vegas part of our honeymoon we just want to really relax so mainly just sitting by the pool. We would like to do some shopping though so where's the best place to go for bargains, we wear a lot of abercrombie, victoria secret, guess, Levi's etc?

So excited now. If anyone has any tips for anything would be great. Especially any vouchers.

    Thanks.
The best place for you to start is page one of this thread. It will keep you busy for quite a while and asnswer most of the questions you might have
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

If you like steak then I would say Gordan Ramseys new restaurant at the Paris. We went there for our anniversary meal last week. I can say it was the nicest steak we have ever had. Its not cheap though, husband had a starter then we both had a main and then 2 bottles of wine, think bill came to $ 287!! Definitely worth it though. We booked before we went probably a month before.
Also ate at Mon Ami Gabi, a table on the patio, which is a great setting for views of the fountains. Think we waited about an hour and 15 for a table on the patio, this was a Monday night.
On previous trips we have eaten at Alize at the palms for anniversary meals and that's been lovely to.

There is an Abercrombie in the forum shops, its near the cheesecake factory, got quite a few bits in there and also spent loads at the outlet malls.

I would consider booking further ahead than that if you want a popular time...I can't remember exact specifics but we ended up with a very late reservation (9:45pm I think) and I'm pretty sure that it was about 2 months before. We very much enjoyed our meal there...though it may depend on what someone is after. The food was great, it seemed 'special' as it was a Ramsay restaurant...but it was not a fancy place, relatively speaking...if 'really, really nice' means most patrons suited and booted, somewhere quite posh, then to me it wouldn't necessarily suit...though we really liked it and liked the fact that it wasn't overly 'fancy'...just depends on what someone is after as with everything. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

just checked back on my emails, we were booked at 8.15 for a sunday night, I booked it 3 weeks before, hope that helps!!
  • Is there always a really long queue for patio tables at Mon Ami Gabi?
  • I've booked our San Francisco restaurant being Gary Danko so just sorting through Vegas restaurants now. We had thought of Gordan Ramsey as it seems to get good reviews. Prices don't matter much as we are trying to do one nice restaurant everywhere we go.

The front page doesn't really have restaurant suggestions.

I would like to go to the wicked spoon looks amazing, is it something you have to book? My brother went on honeymoon back in June and stayed at the cosmopolitan.

We are in a vegas from 18th -23rd September.

We usually dine at at least one really nice restaurant each visit.

Gordon Ramsay Steak is really good if you like steaks. Our bill was around $200 with one drink each.

IMO Alize is more high end and really posh with service to match as it is not as busy as GRS depending which night you go.

I've always waited between 45 mins- hour 15 mins, so bear that in mind and get there earlier than you want to eat. They give you a buzzer which go's off when your tables ready. Not so good this time as we had the children with us, so couldn't hang around in the casino.
