Think I'll ponder it overnight and hope none of the codes expire.
No problem, happy to help. I just prefer Flamingo as its front door is right on the strip and I think its casino is better too. That said Bally's has an internal walkway into Paris which is good.
Try all the codes available as some are better than others, it just all depends on your dates etc. User the link Wammer provided however also use smartervegas.com and the hotel direct.
Once booked keep a look out for better prices then use the Best Rate Guarantee to get a further 10% off.0 -
I prefer the Flamingo over Bally's especially if you get a Flamingo GO room.
Flamingo tries to appeal to a "younger" audience compared to Bally's.
I would normally agree with you, but at the moment there is construction all around that area which may be an issue
here is one link but there are many more with reports of noise

I was looking at this thread a few days ago: http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7835
I thought I had found it via. this thread but it looks like it may have been Google (as couldn't find it again upon checking here for it)
It's not comprehensive (as doesn't include Cosmopolitan which forms part of Marriotts 'Autograph' collection') but is still useful as an MSE tip.
I'm all for the hotel 'best-rate' guarantees, as always pick up a decent deal... when I remember to do it!
I.e. Picked up a 3 night stay for the price of 2 using the 'Comfort Inn' guarantee (non-Vegas)
Find the following sites useful for picking up the best rates too (though some of the prices found can be pre-pay so may not qualify):

Groupon - I had problems booking with them, the transaction failed but I had an email to say they'd try to process it again, once a day, for four days. I rang Halifax and it was because they were blocking the transaction as potential fraud, once they'd removed the block it went through fine. If you do have similar trouble, it's maybe worth giving your card provider a call to check if the issue is their security measures.0

Travelzoo Kahunaville offer I really fancy this and it's now available for our dates. Was just wondering if anyone had had any experience using these vouchers? We'll be a party of four (two couples) so want to buy two vouchers (6 cocktails into 4 doesn't go without arguments). I know the vouchers are one per party but does anyone know if they treat you as a separate party if you pay separately, or will we need to pretend we don't know each other? No probs if the latter, we're all very MSE haha!
We used one of these vouchers last June, although we only bought one voucher for our party of four. The drinks were fine (some very VERY strong though), the show was great (juggling bottles etc). It was very loud and they're big on audience participation. The staff are very used to seeing these vouchers and they knew immediately what it was for and took quite a while explaining to us how it worked and what we could and couldn't have.0 -
I've looked at The Mirage and Monte Carlo, has anyone stayed at either of these hotels before? If so what did you think.
I've stayed in both and enjoyed both. What we liked about the Monte Carlo (in 2006) was the location and layout - it was pretty easy to get about the hotel and onto the strip (mind you, that was after staying in the mind-bogglingly awkward-to-get-about Luxor!) and it has a decent pool. It had decidedly less kids than the Luxor too.
We stayed in the Mirage in 2011. It has another great location and nice rooms and while we got a really good rate from LowCostUSA what we didn't like was the cost of everything. I think it's indicative of 4 star hotels on the strip but drinks, food and gambling seemed really expensive to us (although we're used to getting a good deal on all those at the Orleans!). The slots weren't loose at all for us either...

Looking at booking tonight, Circus Circus in sept for 6 nights, a 1 stop flight, £615 pp with holiday genie. Just wondering if thats a fair price (it seems to be with the searches) also anybody had any experience of holiday genie?
Thanks Claire
I used Holiday Genie for flights to Seoul last Summer, had read a couple of worrying reviews but gotta say I had no problems with them whatsoever. All confirmations and itineraries came through quickly.0 -

I am at staying at the Flamingo (comps) at the end of February. I will report back.
I am sure there is not much noise now especially if you get a room looking over Bally's / Bellagio. The link on vegaschatter was from May 2012.0 -

You may well be right about the noise levels now, that was just the first thing that popped up when I googled noise at Flamingo due to Linq.
Just think it a good idea to check out before booking for this year, although I cant remember without looking when the Linq is due to open0 -
