Looks like we're going to arrive in lax late on the sat. Drive to lv on the Sunday with stops along the way - stay out of town at gvr or somewhere for the night, head over to Hoover dam and over to the south rim, staying in a hotel over there, then Back to Vegas Monday and going to look for a place on the strip for 4 nights - slowly getting a bit of detail in the plan lol
Thanks for all your help so far0 -
Oh my..spanner in works...MGM grand - 4 nights including a Friday in a grand premier king view is $501... That seems a great deal to me...0

ooooh - really? I did not know that or if I did I had forgotten...that is very interesting, very interesting indeed.
Certainly helps in spending the LPs
I have 378,500 to spend and only 1 reward left to get. Managed to snag the 2-Night Mirage Tower Suite reward back in January for our wee trip in October (Its getting soooo close now)

it was my hubby's 40th birthday that we stayed there - it is a bit of a younger crowd but we didn't really feel out of place...plus some days the only time we see our 'home' property is first thing in the morning and last thing at night...what room type did you book? In any event, if they say that the room is near an elevator and ask if that is OK say 'no, we are jetlagged light-sleepers please can we have something else'.
Good advice!I'd read somewhere about not getting a room near the elevator, so that's something I can say to them if they ask if it's ok!
Actually though, I usually do find it hard to sleep away from home.
We booked a Premium Fountain Room, got a good deal going through total rewards. We could have got a cheaper room and tried the $20 trick, but we didn't want to risk it not working and getting one of the dark dingy rooms overlooking some buildings round the back. I still might try to do the $20 trick though!
Like you, the only time we really see the hotel is morning and night.
Thanks for putting my mind at rest! :beer:0 -
I got the Wynn offer too - it says from $109 on the title of the email but when I open it it says from $129.
I'd like to stay there for my 40th birthday next year....so hopefully there will be some deals. Don't want to be 40, but a holiday at the Wynn will make me feel better :rotfl:
I stayed at Wynn on my 50th.
I messaged them on facebook letting them know and what type of room I would like. On arrival they mentioned my message and the room was sorted.
When we got to the room, within minutes I was delivered a tray of hand made chocolates and a card, even the tray was made of chocolate. was a very nice touch0 -

It's worth trying as I think the next step up is a resort room - depending on how much you are fussed about the fountain view...we loved the resort room we were moved to after our first night there (we got very lucky and had a fountain view resort room which was one of our favourite rooms ever)...according to their website they are 110 square feet bigger but felt a lot bigger to us...though we were in the 'elevator room' originally which on the floorplan on the back of the hotel door looked smaller than other rooms on the floor...and the bathrooms are - relatively speaking - really big - we would have rather had a smaller bathroom and larger bedroom area...we just got very unlucky with our first room there...but agree with Luci that the Hollywood Hip rooms are really light on storage space.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

that is really useful to know - thanks again...if nothing else I may buy one of the monorail BOGOF rewards if I have points left over...we are currently trying to figure out what we want to go for...hubby has about double the points I have so we're trying to be strategic...our 'best' use of the points would see us with 4 meals...but that would mean being a bit locked into 4 meals and probably missing some of our regular/favourite places...which we kind of don't want to do..so kind of considering O tickets as we have not seen it in years and years and have wanted to again. Decisions, decisions.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Well I finally got Aria dinner buffet x2 today!I sneaked my iPad in to work and from 3.00 on I sat with that reward on screen and kept flicking it on and off and then about 3.05 it suddenly asked for my details ,I couldn't do it quick enough and as soon as I has done it they were sold out again.
I feel some relief that I have got my 3 rewards for October so don't have to play the damn game as much!
The only thing I am considering is the Monorail b.o.g.o.f like you Ferf as it is an extra reward.0 -
Its a great game. we have :
2 Prem tickets to Love
2 tickets to KA
2 Prem tickets to Chris Angel
2 Aria dinner Buffet
Bogof Gospel brunch @ HOB
Bogof 1lb of candy from Sugar factory
just hoping they add some more partners before we go (32 days) not interested i the monorail as we have the carTotally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
Between me and the GF we have:
2 x 2-night Mirage tower suite stay
2 x Bellagio Buffet
1 x Aria Dinner buffet for 2
We both have one more to redeem (she sneakily bought chips when I wasn't looking so has a total of 4!!) and I dont know whether to just keep the points in case we go back next year and use them on a hotel room (perfect excuse, really) or just splurge on one of the bottle service rewards.
Decisions indeed0
