I know I've said it before, but on 7+ day trips, we tend to drift off-strip at weekends and head out of town (Death Valley, Grand Canyon etc) - prices can be pretty similar to on-strip most of the time, but at the above venues the prices are static 7 days a week so you get away from the busyness, and experience something new / different
If you like it nice and hot, and sitting by the pool, can't beat a bit of Furnace Creek Ranch in Death Valley -- hot spring fed pool, some interesting things to go to in the Valley and guaranteed temperatures

However, you could do the same US Airways flight + 6 nights in Paris (the hotel that is!) = £718 (resort fee optional)
or Mirage Hotel = £758 (includes R fee)
Flamingo = £728 (no fee)
Monte Carlo = £731 (includes R fee)
& NYNY = £773 (includes R fee)
+ could point you in the direction to save 10% off the cost of the hotels also.... (as they do a Best rate deal + 10% off, etc)0 -
Don't forget that bookings via. the TI website make the resort fee optional. I'm pretty certain Venetian and Palazzo are (or were!) optional resort fees too. As mentioned though, they're basically mandatory at every other strip hotel - as they're mostly MGM / CET (though sometimes I've had them knocked off for various reasons... usually when there is a complaint to be made, or through enough casino play)
Thanks.
We booked through PH, so I guess they're mandatory there?0 -
Ventian/ Palaz = optional resort fee (I just booked my mate in for 4 nights, said wont be doing the resort fee, and also got them to price match and lower by 10%, although took a 'free' phonecall to them as they are crap at answering emails!).
One of good sites is lowcostusa.co.uk (and quickrooms.com), they include resort fees in there cost.. I use screenprints of there quotes and I booked direct with the hotels (for myself 2 months and ago and a few friends), I used the best rate guarantee option, submitted the info, and hotel matches the rate and then lowers by 10%.....
MGM Grand don't do that, others do (if it says on the site!).0 -

Was this comment aimed at me or someone else above lol

There's a great bar at NYNY called Coyote Ugly. Go in there and ask for a glass of water and they should give you a free upgrade to something much better.illegitimi non carborundum0

Theres also a great bar called the Square, get yourself $150 worth of free drinks, and you'll find when you leave the place, you end up puking lots into a bin on the bridge between Excal & NYNY
yes 21yrold, it was aimed at you.. They are all nice hotels, think I would pick Paris over NYNY mind!
Booking yourself = cheaper...
Book through expedia, and you could do your flight+paris hotel for £746 each..... optional resort fee, etc...0 -
I think I would pick Paris over NYNY purely because it is more central. It's next door to where we stay, and we've only ever walked through it about once or twice, but it looks nice.
I quite fancy that going to that Irish restaurant in NYNY, I like the sound of the Irish Stew! Infact, the whole menu sounds yummy!0 -

I did the rollercoaster at NY NY last time I was in Vegas - hungover.
Given that I feel sick just looking at rollercoasters like the Big One in Blackpool I still can't believe I did it.
I almost chickened out, but seeing all the kids running onto it made me try and 'man up' a bit.
My legs were like jelly when I got off it.
Watch this great video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yltlSuWqvzc -
I think they have free passes for it on Myvegas if you play that?0
