I believe Envy are no longer participating in r.com.

annoying! I was just looking at r.com a couple of weeks ago and thinking I should buy an Envy certificate and didn't...I even have credit I could have used...I think same with Harley Davidson Cafe - we have never been and I thought it might be one worth having a certificate for...cannot see it now.

And if I'm not mistaken, also gone are Austin's and Sonoma Cellar...and Triple George downtown. And Mr. Lucky's..in addition to the ones nvh mentioned were gone (and a few more at Mandalay Bay we have used before).

    :(

I have at least one Harley-Davidson Cafe cert and haven't received an email yet to say it will be credited. I'm sure I did when Andre's at Monte Carlo stopped participating.

Ventian/ Palaz = optional resort fee (I just booked my mate in for 4 nights, said wont be doing the resort fee, and also got them to price match and lower by 10%, although took a 'free' phonecall to them as they are crap at answering emails!).

One of the best savings I ever made was moving my phone to Sky as their Anytime call package gives you free overseas calls to US and Canada for £5 a month (as well as the more usual free UK landline calls). I've saved hundreds on some trips just picking the phone up for a price match or to ask questions or add requests. I find Vegas hotels are definitely a bit hit and miss with emails.

Yes I know this sounds like spam - and I *do* work for them - but it honestly isn't -it's just the best deal for people like us who like to work at getting the price matches etc that I've found.

you have 150k in LP's ?!! you been playing a while then!!! (LP's = gold coins!)... Better to use LP's for a show, or food options.....

    !

Wr're doing OK on LPs (not been playing that long) I've about 160K and OH has about 120K -I'm thinking one of the better hotel conversions is bonus weekend rates. I quite fancy trying Mandalay Bay although I've never stayed that far south on the Strip.

I didnt know sky offered that service for £5 a month or £60 a year.

Most people who only visit once or twice a year, may make maybe half a dozen phone calls at 1p per minute say maybe an hour in total, less than £1 total cost that doesnt seem like a great deal.

I've just had a look at this myvegas thing, do you need Facebook to use it? I don't have Facebook and don't want it either. Is there any other similar sites to earn discounts or get vouchers etc? I had a look at that restaurant.com last night, but it didn't have many restaurants on that I would probably visit.

Yes you need FB and to invite friends to help you BUT you could use it purely to play the game and have a user name that isn't your own name (like say Michelle Vegas). There are groups to help you pick uyp "friends" who play the game and extra chips so you don't even need to tell your RL friends that you have an account.

Check out the first couple of pages of this thread for coupon sites to get food discounts.

Depends what you're paying - a lot of people don't get the 1p a min rate (or rather don't know how or find it faffy) -for me it works as I can chat to my US friends (not a fan of Skype or Facetime) as well as family in Europe for free. It's all about what suits you-a lot of people are already paying £5 for a call package to get calls 24/7 instead of just evenings and weekends ....so effectively the free Europe and US calls *are* free as they'd be paying it anyway <shrug>. It's not £5 for overseas it's £5 for 24/7 UK and the overseas is thrown in for nothing. If you're a 9-5 worker then it may not be the best for you but for a lot of people it is a good deal. Sorry if you object to me passing on the info just because it doesn't suit you personally though !!!!

<Note to self - never post any deals that are not of interest to photome and his personal interests in future>

Just for reference, if you 'like' MGM Grand on Facebook you can send them a direct message and they reply incredibly quickly.

I sent them one enquiring about a fridge in the room - although at $25 a day I think I'll give that one a miss!

For the first time I called the US using Skype yesterday as I picked a £2 of free credit somewhere. There's a small connection fee (3p or so from memory) and 2p or so a minute, but they do US toll free numbers for free as well.

Easier than searching for the MSE best buy number etc. and avoids the now ludicrous 15p or so connection fee that PlusNet/Talktalk/BT charge.
