He seems to appear on a lot of our TV shows. He was on that Your Face Sounds Familiar the other day....who knows what phrases he's priced up from Paddy McGuiness?! :rotfl:

He actually lived over here for fairly long periods in the eighties (he recorded with Peter Gabrieal at one point). I once sat opposite a chap on the tube thinking "That guy looks just like Donny Osmond ...but George Michael styled" It wasn't til a lot later I realized it WAS Donny LOL

I was at Elstree for the first dress run through of Your Face Sound Familiar - there was a lot of talk about how a certain someone looked like Fred West rather than Tom Jones from Paddy :D

Did you get a good deal in the end?

Pretty much same dates I'm going, except I have to wait until 2014 :p

:rotfl: Paddy cracks me up! Thinking back to that Tom Jones performance, I can kinda see what he means!

Yeah, not bad at all. :) Not as good as if we could have went our original week (25th August), as flights and rooms were both a little bit more expensive, but all in all we got a pretty good deal I think. We joined total rewards and got a good discount on the hotel rooms. It would have been about £300 more if we'd have booked on say hotels.com or lastminute.

Well after doing 5 half marathons now Tracy and I have decided to step up with the big boys for our first full, and where better than the Rock and Roll marathon in Vegas on the 17th of November. 4:30pm start and we should be able to do it in around 4 hours. We are only staying for 4 days as we have a Christmas cruise lined up the next month.
As usual we are running for the Alzheimer's Society so I will be putting a link up later for any of you that would like to sponser us.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

and plan a little daytrip to Zion National Park rather than GC.

Overall I actually preferred Zion...though the overnight stay at the south rim was spectacular for all the stars, I liked being down and looking up at Zion rather than looking over the GC, if you see what I mean? I know you can do hiking tours down in the GC but we didn't...I really enjoyed Zion a lot and would go there again one day.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I'm seeing direct flights from Manchester to Vegas with FlyThomasCook for next June for about £612 (including checked in luggage and in-flight meals). £8 cashback from Quidco would bring it down to £604, that seems not bad. Could either get Fri-Fri flights or Sun-Sun flights.

Do people agree that that seems like a pretty good deal for direct June flights? Does anyone have experience of flying that route before?
  • I was thinking of using Goldstar to book tickets to see Human Nature, has anyone used them before, are they ok?

Considering that's including checked in luggage and in-flight meals, then I'd say that's a very good deal! :money:

We've just paid £1406 (thats for both of us obviously!) all in for end of Sept this year, also with FlyThomasCook (also got the Quidco too!), we've never flown with them before, but it was either them or Virgin to get a direct flight, and Virgin was just too expensive.
