one other thing on the show the first night - normally you have to collect your tickets at least an hour before the show...which can be OK if you'll be somewhere that you would want to kill an hour + your first night...it's one of the factors that made it seem a bit rushed to us as we knew we had a deadline to meet before the show. It was fine in the end but we would have rather just chilled and wander where we wanted.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

so happy we finally booked our last 4 nights in October...I was getting a bit nervous as standard rates seemed a bit high and we hadn't had any offers that covered the dates...we were just about to book something (not a particularly good deal either) through mlife as a back-up when hubby got an offer from TI which I really like and was one of the offers we hoped might be coming...much happier with our back-up plan being a good deal and somewhere we like. It can't come soon enough!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

Thanks for posting Lesley, had a wee look there but they are only valid for 90 days and we're not there until 23rd November but who's counting
Dilemma on the 23rd though - Should i book a headliner show as we arrive that day at 13:30 ? It's between Ringo Starr (Palms) and Michael Buble (MGM) I worry a bit about delays so I'm unsure , also tiredness but Mrs mcP usually sleeps through every show we've went to so why not.
Ringo for me I think but what would you do ?
PS Sorry to move away from the car hire topic !
I would pick Ringo too!
What's the weather like at the end of Nov? Have you been before at that time? We went once end of Oct going into first week of Nov and I was surprised at just how warm it still was.0 -

Got back yesterday morning from two weeks in Vegas...will post TR when I feel human again (stays in Cosmo suite, M Resort, Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental plus lots of food pics;)
Now to catch up on posts from the last 2 weeks.....:staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin0 -
Anybody out there at the minute with good storm stories?
Ohhhhhhh yes, but you'll have to wait a couple of hours til I've finished the TR. As a teaser, have you seen the film Twister???
Yeah? Well.....imagine that outside Fashion Show Mall :rotfl::staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin0 -
A touch excited, as we booked our trip to Vegas, leaving 21st November, never though hubby would get the Vegas bug, nor myself for that matter!
Very happy with the flights we got, flying Malaga to London via JFK to Vegas, with just the stop in London the way home. Only drawback is an overnight at JFK. Arriving 22.30, so we will have 9 hours or so wait. Anyone waited overnight? If so, any tips of what to do there?
We have booked tickets to see both Michael Buble and Justin Timberlake, and plan a little daytrip to Zion National Park rather than GC.
We have yet to book hotels, as kind of hoping the 2 nights for MyVegas will come back soonish, and most offers seems to be for stays until end Aug/ Sep.
According to my calculation, 121 days to go!0 -
I've done a few weekends in Vegas so done a show the night I've arrived. Biggest worry is delays. I once was due in at three and finally arrived at midnight but most times it worked out although occassionally I've checked in at 6 or 7 and it has been a real rush.
Nowdays I don't book the first night - but if I arrive on time might buy a ticket for a lively show on the night.
One trip I was chatting to Donny Osmond after his show and mentioned I hadn't arrived til an hour before the show-His comment was a bit unexpected "You must be knackered" Someone's been teaching him English expressions obviously LOLI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

If it was in the day I'd say get on the train into Manhattan but at night -I'd priceline an airport hotel and enjoy a proper bed and a decent shower for a few hours. Otherwise you'll arrive in Vegas so wrecked you'll probably lose the first day or so.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

He seems to appear on a lot of our TV shows. He was on that Your Face Sounds Familiar the other day....who knows what phrases he's priced up from Paddy McGuiness?! :rotfl:0
