We're having a total mare trying to get booked!
So we couldn't book that great deal we found because the DH couldn't get that week off work, so we thought ok, we'll go with what we originally thought (1st Sept), but the flights which were £1284 on last minute.com had gone off the site, so went down to TC and they were going to charge £1600! Back to the drawing board I guess

Ebookers currently have a £50 voucher code on packages. Enter code CITYSUN50 when booking a flight + hotel.
Georgiegirl - We are also going 1st September. We got our flights for £720 I think from Glasgow. If you're going to be £800 each for Thomas Cook, you really should consider the scheduled airlines, as nvh said put a search in Kayak and maybe even get daily email alerts so you can watch it over the next few days/weeks - depending on how long you intend to wait.
Once you do a flight+hotel deal on expedia or ebookers etc, plus factor in Quidco you might do quite well from it. You can even just book one night in the hotel, that way you can book your other nights on offers. This is what we often do. We've booked 1st September at Orleans as it's Labor Day weekend it's an expensive hotel night (counts as a weekend night despite being a Sunday which would usually be cheaper). We have then booked our other nights independantly. You could obviously book the one night at the hotel you plan to stay at though, then add other nights with a separate booking.
Not sure how far back you have read, but I also got some very good deals on Priceline this year. 2-6th we're staying at Palazzo for £75 per night, and the Venetian over the weekend for £80 per night.0 -
noticed this in an email from House of Blues

tomorrow we can choose seats for our October trip and start thinking about MyVegas redemptions...this means in the next couple of days Zarkana tickets will disappear so anyone thinking of redeeming that particular reward may want to do so quickly.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

sorry, I can't remember... have you tried https://www.Kayak.com with the "+/- 3" days option?
I have, but thanks anyhow!0 -

Thanks! Will keep all that in mindIt's just a sickener that the other day I could have got the flights for under £1300
I keep on checking on all the different sites, hoping that those flights might appear back....or is it a case of when they're gone they're gone? They've sold out?0 -

Keep checking they come and go.
Clear your cookies or using a different computer may help also.0 -

I definitely think you should keep checking. It could be that they're gone, but Thomas Cook (and other package companies') flights seem to fluctuate like mad (in both directions). What you have seen is a good example of this, it doesn't seem right for a price jump because someone bought the last two tickets in the fare band!
I have heard stuff about cookies interfering with the price. Don't know if it's true (I have tried using different computers with Thomson's last year for Egypt and it didn't help). If there's any chance it could be true though it's worth a try!
You say flights were £1300 the other day. Out of curiosity, how much are US Airways etc? Not sure which fly from your local airport. I'm just thinking, if it's £1400 for example you might want to consider, given that they have higher luggage allowance (do you plan to shop?). There may be other benefits such as leg room, better meals, drinks etc - all depending on the airlines. I just had a look at Thomas Cook and thought I'd found it for £1168, but then realised that although I'd put in Manchester 1-8th, it had brought up 4-8th! When I look I can't find a flight from Manchester with them on the 1st. Maybe you're not looking from Manchester, but I can't think where else they might fly out of.0
