Oh, should have added....last year we flew to LA because the flight was £200 cheaper each. We spent our saving though by taking the opportunity to see LA. We had a 15 night trip, so time wasn't so much an issue either. Could be worth checking LA or Phoenix if you would be interested in a side trip and driving.

Georgiegirl - I do hope you find a deal. Here's what I found.

Expedia - Manchester to Vegas 1-8th, flights with US Airways with sensible stops, one night at PH £1460. £51 cashback with Quidco. PH 2-8th $598 incl tax and resort fee. (£400). Total including cashback around £1810. PH is with 'Pool Season Premier' offer - might be better offers...perhaps someone else will know a better one. It's the exact same price on the link posted previously. Remember to click to the next page to include resort fee and tax when looking up prices. You could save a further $100+ by staying at luxor. Flights + 1 night would be £1406 less quidco, then $487 for the other 6 nights at Luxor.

Thanks so much for all your help Lesley! I really appreciate it. :)

I'll keep on checking lastminute.com and hopefully that flight might reappear, but theres no mention of it anymore, so I reckon they've probably sold all their allocated tickets. It was the TC shop that gave me the £1600 price.

I'll check out Expedia later on when I'm back home and see what I can work out.

ETA: Yes, it's Manchester that we're wanting to fly from.

US Airways have flights for £671 on Expedia, stopping at Philly for those dates.

If you go onto the Thomas Cook forum http://customer-community.thomascook.com/thomascook they'll be able to confirm if their flights are fully booked, or if they're just being held.

Our next step is to get our car booked. Has anyone hired from Dollar at Treasure Island lately? I can't seem to get Dollar let alone TI on Netflights this year, and I always book through them so that's a shame. I've got a good price on Carhire3000, I'm sure some people on here use them - any feedback?

We also have 3 groupon deals so far - Gaetano's (Henderson), yard drinks at Fresh Bar & Grill (Planet Ho), and Harrah's buffet dinner with drinks.

Also got a LVA coupon book, very good coupons in there.

Is it too early to get excited? 6 weeks on Sunday :j

We also pass through Philly most times on our way. We tend to avoid the philly cheeseteak and Chick-a-fila being vegetarian. Usually a slice of Sbarro pizza at the food court, and a diet coke. Then last year we discovered the wine tasting at Vino Volo. You choose a combination (3 glasses). They put the corresponding printed sheet with 3 circles on your tray. Each circle has the name and description of the wine, and they then sit your wine samples on there. They're not tiny tasters. I thought it was quite novel, and hope to do it again if we have time this year...........IN 6 WEEKS :rotfl:

the last several trips we have picked up at TI and dropped off at the airport and it's worked really well and always booked through CH3000...the desk at TI is busy in the morning - after lunch it's much more quiet which has suited us since we have been taking the Virgin flight, it makes more sense to pick up in the afternoon as we'll be dropping off in the afternoon.

We really rate CH3000...if you choose to pay in full when you book you can cancel anytime with no loss of deposit. And if the price goes down and you contact them, they will refund the difference.

I know some have gotten better deals using netflights but they have always been more expensive for our dates than CH3000.

Thanks ferf. Good to hear that Carhire3000 is good too. I just always used Netflights so stuck with them (and their Quidco cashback was also useful). We have had a bit of queuing in the past at TI Dollar, bit of a pain. We had to go back a couple of times last year when we collected and had the car a few days but we returned in LA. Afternoon collection is suiting us this year too, so hopefully as you say it will be quieter. We're also finding it as cheap to hire for a week as 5 or 6 days, so think we'll just take a week. That way we can still enjoy the sun, drinks at night, without the pressure to be out in a car all day and make the most of the rental. As we've got LVA coupon book, we have plenty of buffet 2/1 coupons which is handy as well when out in the car. Some places that we wouldn't use up otherwise.

The remains of my LVA coupon book will be up for grabs when we get back. Not sure if it is best to wait to see what coupons I have left before offering it out, as that may make a difference to whether folk would even want it. I'm hoping to make quite a profit from it lol.

Restaurant.com I've STILL never got around to - I'm not sure we'd manage to use any more vouchers this trip anyway. It sounds good when I hear of people using it though.

it is worth checking somewhere like seatguru.com before booking if that's particularly important - several airlines have aircraft on transatlantic route without seat-back TV on some flights...just have to be careful when booking to choose one on the type of aircraft that suits you...a quick look seems to indicate that some US Airways flights use an Airbus A330-200 which has seat-back, on demand available but others on a 757-200 are as you describe...you can normally see the aircraft type before booking to check.

I know when we were flying AA we specifically chose flights that were showing as 777s vs the 767s (I think) they operated for some flights...it's not a 100% guarantee (there can always be an aircraft change) but better chance of a plane we preferred
