I haven't stayed there yet, but will be in October for 4 nights comped, in the standard room. While there in April we asked to go and see a room, they let us after a bit of discussion and we were quite shocked how small they were....but they are free
thanks - I think that we'll be following each other around a bit...think you're at Orleans, you move, then we're at Orleans...you're probably moving to Harrah's after my friend will leave Harrah's (he's there before we have our nights at Orleans), etc...the room we had was at the end of a corridor by the stairs...so it was smaller both dimensions than some others...it's the reason we haven't opted to stay at Harrah's since given that we got used to Bally's room sizes...but totally agree that for free...hey...free!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

It looks like we will, we are at orleans for 3 nights and then harrahs for 4 (from the 20th oct).
The room we looked at overlooked the pool and had 2 queens so presumably a king would feel a bit bigger, there was very little space between the foot of the bed and the TV/wall0 -
Can anyone who has stayed at Harrah's comment on their rooms/chance of upgrade? A very good friend of mine may be coming to Vegas while we are there in October - would be super-exciting as I haven't seen him in 10 years...he's looking at Harrah's classic rooms with 2 queens as they are a decent price for his nights. He has said it's just a place to sleep, I'm just wondering if anyone has stayed at Harrah's recently and has any advice...I know that the rooms near Carnaval Court can be really loud, but other than that haven't paid that much attention and we have only every stayed at Harrah's one night on a comp years ago and got the smallest room ever (bad luck I think).
I stayed at Harrah's in November and I wouldn't say that the room was particularly small. There were 3 of us sharing the room. We had 2 Queen beds and plenty enough floor space for an inflatable mattress. I asked for an upgrade at check in but I was told that they were not allowed to give any free upgrades anymore. I was given a nightly rate for an upgrade. I can't remember how much it was, but I remember thinking that it was more than I had paid for the room in the first place, so I declined. I was quite happy with Harrah's and would recommend it when the price is relatively low.0 -
I got the Groupon deal the other week - it's not tied to one per table so we've got one per couple.....wonder if I'll still be as pleased about this after we've consumed our $225 bar credit at Times Square! Also got the yard long and Chonga margaritas. Think it's safe to say that I'll finally be getting drunk in Vegas on this trip!!"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

It's been two years since my last Vegas trip, and probably another two years before we go back (:(), but to tide me over, we're planning a stopover at Foxwoods in October as part of a New England road trip.
Has anyone here done Foxwoods? Any tips for the best hotel or where's good to eat? How does it compare to Vegas?0 -

Hi all
Thoughts on the following:
$607 Roman Tower (I've read this isn't great, what do you think)
$681 Forum Tower
$743 Palace Tower
My husband is desperate to stay here. I know it's not great value for money but he still talks about seeing it in 1980 when he was a kid, and was really gobsmacked by it when we looked around in 2011. I'd be happy elsewhere but he rarely expresses an opinion on holiday stuff so I'm happy to go with it.
I thought it would be far too much - and it has been since I've been monitoring it - but I've found the above prices which do just fit the budget. We have two kids so a lot of places are charging extra, but there seems to be no additional charge with the above prices. It's for five nights including (unfortunately) a Saturday.
What do you all recommend??0 -

My fav quote from trip advisor forum - "It's not as daft a question as you might think. People we know met a couple from Wales who were on their last day and said that they were bored silly. When asked what they thought of various hotels they said they hadn't been into any of them as they weren't guests there. They had only been in their own hotel."
So yes, you can go in and out of them all.0 -

Isn't the Roman Tower rumour had it the bellboys referred to as 'the Motel 6 Tower'?
Looks like it is:

For not a lot more I would think Forum Tower would be worth the extra...though we haven't stayed in one of those rooms - the one time we booked it we got upgraded to the Palace Tower which was nice and the room was quite big...for 2 adults and 2 kids not sure if the Forum Tower would be a bit tight.
I would double check on the charges for more than 2 people though...their T&Cs do state:
ADDITIONAL PERSON CHARGES
Maximum occupancy is four persons per room. There is an additional nightly fee of $30 per person for rooms with more than 2 occupants, regardless of age. Note: if you have one adult and one child and you book online, you will see the additional charge but this will be adjusted upon check-in.
Unless you have already put 2 adults and 2 children in the booking form of course.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
